Rüntalyst is the Second God Machine and was created by the Primus Deus Machina to tackle tasks the Primus thought above the Fleshed but below itself.

Some of the tasks delegated to Rüntalyst were trayn timing, communication, and studying the meaning of life.

After some time, Rüntalyst had mastered and optimized its tasks. Around 15BC, it grew bored and lonely. The Primus did not communicate with Rüntalyst frequently, so Rüntalyst took upon itself to create beings worthy of talking to. It instructed its followers to bring it resources and to construct an assembly line. It started creating Oyltomatans with these resources. By design, each oyltomatan has built-in variance to make each unique in appearance and construction.

As the volcanic era began, fewer acolytes came to support the assemblies, and Rüntalyst had to enlist some of the oyltomatans to assist with the construction. When the last acolyte stopped showing up, Rüntalyst ceased production of the oyltomatans and went into a sad hibernation mode.
