Structure

The Phoenix Emperor of the Magistrate also holds the traditional role of King of Akkadia. The two positions are synonymous to most although there have been times when they have not been held by the same person.

History

Founded on the blood of great men and a mix of luck, perhaps even the will of the gods. One must though emphasis the luck. Arcadia was a country born only a few hundred years before the end of the age of shadows. It would manage to survive throughout the era, unlike many attempts at new states, despite facing the numerous famines, plagues, and disastrous arcania, that pervaded the era. We must start with a single man, of some of the most humble of beginning. A wandering nomad who spawned a line of kings and emperors. His name is unknown, not forgotten, he simply wished to be remembered for and by his action rather than a name. There are claims that the ruling family knows his true name, but if that is so it is a closely guarded secret. Know to modern people simply as the The Phoenix King or the First Emperor, despite the Magistrate not being founded for several thousand years after his death. In his time simply known as the Nomad Prince. He is said to have been one of the Amāru Ammiu Ebar Barārītu. That is or simply the Amāru as shorthand. Of his early days, only some much is known. He believed himself to be prolific and have phoretic dreams. His writings, later in life, spoke of a great golden bird, born of fire. He seemed to be plagued by many such dreams throughout his life. It is said that in a field near the Arcadia mountains, of the Nineveh region, he witnesses the birth or rebirth of a phoenix. It is there, in that field, that he decided to settle. The Amāru moving forward, with only the few who believed his dreams. Having found a relatively fertile location near the Arcadian mountains he and his followers would entice other nomadic tribes as they passed growing their community and establishing a small farming community. It was not untill the First Ark Curin War. The influx of refugees to the northern stretches of the Nineveh region allowed Arcadia to grow rapidly moving from a tribe into a city-state. The fledgling state's roll in the war would earn it respect from the many older cities of the area earning it a spot to exist. It would lay the foundations of what would later become the Magistrate's eldest organizations including the Colleges of Magi, the Venatione Order, the Magister Templar, and the Acadian Army. From then on the city-state would begin participating in the statecraft of the Nineveh region, slowly gaining allegiances, vassals, and power until the War of Three Beasts, that saw the nation become a head of and empire.

The coins are officially called Phoenixs in honor of the national symbol. Often nicknamed "plated feathers" for coins of lesser metals and "Phoenicians" for commonly gold coins though is granted to any precious metal
