The War of Three Beasts

A war without equal in comparison to the conflicts of it is time. It was less a singular war and more a series of interconnected wars fought over years between allied states with periods of cold war between these allied states. Three of these alliances, who lasted the longest in the war, had a banner depicting a great beast. It has thus been branded the war of three beasts by modern historians though at the time it was comprised of wars of numerous different names. It can be said that the number of fighters can range from two to over a dozen sides striking out of each other.

The Conflict

Prelude

The windup to this great war was the Age of Shadow. It was a particularly brutal fallen age in The Cycle. It seemed to have filled the world with war, famine, and a plethora of wild Void Beasts that could and would often overrun the entire cities if they were not careful. The decline of that age which lead to the birth of numerous allied states and Lesser Empires. These states would eventually begin to come into conflict with each other, as they grew in power and size. It would lead to a series of nation spanning conflicts that grew ever more intense.

Battlefield

A great deal of Prospero was turned into a battlefield even nations and people who had no stake in the conflict often times found there homes turned into a field of battle.

Outcome

The organization known as the The Magistrate is officially formed.

Aftermath

The Magistrate continues as the Empire of an age

Historical Significance

The age of shadows was not one known for peace although it would have small peroids, mostly thanks to strong Alliances and peace treaties. The war began as a series of misplaced conflict over borders and terrority claims between a number of states. This would escalate during numerous smaller conflicts with smaller independent nations being pulled into large conflicts due to either personal benefits or the alliances that kept once kept them from fighting.
