Jheecu (JHEE-kyoo)

Overview

Also known as Korla Xiao, Jheecu is an older strength dragon hatched by Malderpa in the East Asian dragon clan of Ilugi. A well known dragon for her strong sense of pride and independence, and for narrowly escaping death during the explosion from one of the atomic bombs used in World War II.

Appearance and Personality

In her human form, Jheecu appears as an older woman of strong Asian descent. She is built somewhat like a weightlifter and in this form she is quite strong. Though short in stature and appearing as someone in her fifties or sixties, as a human she is an imposing figure.
As a dragon, Jheecu is somewhat large for her type, and as a female strength dragon she is of the largest dragon type. Age is beginning to show, from wrinkles forming around some joints to her crest beginning to droop. Her muscle and fat have not begun to erode, leaving her still capable as capable of physical feats as any other younger dragon. Routine hunts and flights help maintain her health and fitness.
Jheecu sees herself as fully independent and not in need of any help from anyone. She is easy to anger and often speaks about how dragons kind has lost its way and is losing its freedom to the humans that are taking over the Earth. Many see her as the kind of dragon that stirs unrest for the sake of unrest, though a few who have similar feelings seek to have her help them with their plans. However, her sense of independence makes it hard for her to follow and aid others, and her pride, bordering on arrogance, stops her from serving individuals or groups.
While still a young adult, Jheecu suffered life threatening injuries from an atomic bomb blast, which also killed every single youngling from her very first nest. Once she recovered, grief turned to anger that humans would do such a thing, and that dragons were incapable of guarding all life as they once did thousands of years ago. She acknowledges that the anger borne from that incident continues to fuel her and she hopes that anger will never fade, as she is adamant in her beliefs.
Anger and pride dominate her personality, but that leads Jheecu to live a mostly isolated life, rarely befriending or getting to know other dragons outside of times where she desired to mate and nest. There are a few dragons that she is close to, including Harogbas son of Caparollo. Jheecu mated many times in her life, deep down an attempt to validate her ability as a mother after losing her first brood. Most of the times she has nested, she refuses help from other females and only began to nest among other breeding females later in life when she settled in Kucho. Known as a very caring mother whose young tend to grow up well and strong, Jheecu teaches her young to be wary of humans and to hate the actions humans take everyday against themselves and others.
