Wispwing Dragon

"What's that in the sky?!"
"It's a bird!"
"It's a cloud!"
"It's a- no, no, wait, yep, it's a cloud."
— A group of people hoping to see a wispwing dragon

The Dusklit Mist

In the tales told by the fireside, wispwing dragons are not mere creatures but the embodiment of the sky's soul. Their fur, said to be dyed in the hues of dawn and twilight, shimmers with the radiance of the stars. Their eyes, deep pools of serenity, hold the calm of the endless sky. It's said that to gaze into their eyes is to gaze into the vastness of the heavens.   These dragons dwell in the unreachable realms where the earth meets the sky. They dance in the places where clouds are born and mist rises, their elegant forms barely distinguishable from the wisps of clouds they frolic amongst. They are the silent painters of the skies, the weavers of the morning mist, and the sculptors of the evening clouds.

A Dawnlight Twist

Legend has it that the wispwing dragons are guardians of ancient sky secrets and protectors of the sacred high places of the world. They are revered as symbols of purity, balance, and harmony. In stories, they are often depicted as guides to lost travelers, leading them through treacherous mountain paths with the soft glow of their fur as a guiding light.   In the chorus of the wind, their voices are heard, a melody that resonates with the freedom of the skies. Their song, a symphony of whispers and sighs, is believed to bring peace to troubled hearts and clarity to clouded minds.   While their presence has been nothing but myth and legend, there are many who dream of looking up in the skies and catching a glimpse of a wispwing dragon.

I too hope to see the mythical friend-shape in the sky one day.   I really like the name you gave it, and so far a favorite among the dragons you've written this WE. Cockatrice & Saltcrest being close seconds. :)

Just keep looking, maybe one day you'll spot one!   I'm happy to hear you've been enjoying my dragons, they've been fun to write, even if they do gang up on me at times.

I love them. I love the idea of them sculpting the clouds with their movements, even if they might be just a myth.
