Glowbears

"You know, they're not really bears."
"WHO CARES? LOOK AT HIM! LOOK AT HIM! OH MY GOD THE LITTLE BUTTON NOSE!"
— A very excitable young woman and her less excited friend

Buttons

Small and covered in velvety fuzz, with large round ears, big black eyes, and the cutest round nose. That is the description given to everyone who asks what a glowbear looks like.   Their short and stubby bodies, along with their tiny paws with soft pads, are usually found burrowing under the ground to create a network of tunnels for their local glowbear population. They work together and communicate through purrs and chirps, using the faint glow from their fur to light the ground when necessary. They're gentle and affectionate, and are very curious whenever people turn up near their homes; sometimes to the extent of having nearly a hundred of them slowly crawl out of their tunnels to see the new big animals that rub their soft bellies for them. Though their social nature can be dangerous at times, they never seem to learn that particular lesson, and instead choose to greet any visitor they get.

Bananas

Glowbears are herbivores and love eating fruits and honey whenever they can. They have an excellent memory and never get lost in their tunnels or in the mazes that people sometimes make for them.   While they aren't a common species, they're adored by everyone who comes across them, even though many will never understand why they're called glowbears. They love when they get visitors and get their bellies rubbed and cuddled, and will often make a soft purring sound that vibrates through their whole body when they're feeling affectionate. Their purrs have yet to meet a creature they couldn't calm, and once one starts purring it can set off a chain reaction for all the other glowbears nearby to start purring as well.
