Elf

Elves were a major race on Thael, and are very similar to humans anatomically, but they are on average 6 inches taller and have weaker bones. Magical aptitude is very common among elves, and they often make use of it to strengthen and mutate their bodies. The most advanced transmuters have even given themselves an additional pair of arms, though most can only make changes to hair and skin tones, or minor adjustments to the head and limbs. The characteristic elongated ears are not a natural occurrence, but rather a cultural modification usually applied with magic. Having shorter ears is usually a sign of poor class and aptitude, but luckily elves can pay a hefty sum to have the operation performed upon them by another mage.
Elves were comparatively accepted by humans after The Merge, likely due to their similarity and capabilities. Some elves were even integrated into the aristocracy, helping ease tensions between the two races.
When playing Iron Kingdoms, use the Iosan or Nyss race. Note most elves can use minor transmutative magic even without the Gifted archetype. A player wanting to play an enhanced-strength elf should choose the Nyss.
