Sisters of Sin
Neutral Aligned
‘The Sisters', as they are often called, are admired by some, and despised by others and unknown by most. They are a loosely-associated network of women who run brothels throughout the cities and settlements of the realm. The Sisters of Sin take pride in their work. Each leader, commonly referred to as a ‘mother', has control over a particular district, if not an entire city, and watches over all of the girls in her charge. The Sisters usually have a good idea of what's going on, both politically and otherwise, Small talk can sometimes be rather interesting, you see, and all of the girls are good listeners. They are also a safe haven for information exchange and sometimes a direct middleman between two parties. One noble goes around whoring and the whispers something to a sister while they roll around in bed, then the sister makes sure to similarly repeat this when with a specific client at a later date. This rather enjoyable and mostly riskless gained popularity, but most were shocked to realize that whores are not stupid and after years the “Sisterhood” had gained enough information and found enough evidence to pressure almost everyone who thought they could bully them. They have been responsible for ruining many political careers throughout the decades, and even for taking down some of the most powerful noble houses through scandal and outrage, for small slights against their own. While back in the day it occasionally happened that a sister was kidnapped or threatened to reveal the secrets they held, nowadays they are an almost untouchable informational network that protects itself by swearing utter neutrality. Willing to accept payment for useful information and spilled secrets, they don't much care for who that knowledge might ruin, or the long term ramifications. They view the world outside of their brothels as a cruel place that they must have an edge in to get by. Their private disclosures and the impact they could have is what gives them that edge.
