Flame Dressed

The term for denizens of theInfernal Hellscape, which is the new name for the fire elemental plane after the fiendish corruption sprouting from the war.
They consists of two broad groups:

1. Natives
The original inhabitants of the elemental plane of fire. Phoenixes, Efreeti, Salamanders, Azers and all other kinds of lesser fire elementals.
2. Invaders
The invading masses that came from the Hells gate. They have control over a semi permanent portal between the infernal plane and the material plane. They consist of all kinds of demons and devils with the recent additions of corrupted allies and their spawns, mainly Tieflings gained through Birth Contracts.

They are in a constant battle of supremacy. Both mostly resistant against many means of power each side holds. The sudden appearance of the fiends was sudden for the comparably peaceful natives, and the fiends managed to gain grounds on the plane. Nowadays the war is in a stalemate because both sides have means of replenishing their troops and only a small group of elites that can effectively battle.

History

When fiends and demons where introduced to latebra most died out shortly after as the Trickster threw them down together at Hells gate. They proceeded to immediately fight each other for weeks before some of the more intellectually gifted demons and devils realized that they had not just passed a special anomaly but had entered a completely new plane. With neither any contact to the abyss or the nine hells and confronted with dwindling numbers and mortality they went into a shaky truce, scouting the region. The Fiends found change in the hot and toxic regions of an active volcano. The inside was so intensely hot that a semi-permanent portal to the fire elemental plane existed. The fiends took the opportunity and stabilized it and used it as an entry point to conquer the fire plane making it their own “hell”. The smarter devils use the feral Demons as soldiers because unlike normal, the devils in this plane are still mortal and far easier to completely destroy as their souls can´t return to the nine hells and they have to extensively capture humanoids and monsters to extend their armies. While fiends are proficient to fight against enemies wielding fire the environment is actually the biggest problem, almost all demons and devils who are not resistant or immune to fire have long since left or died. The presence and bloodshed in the fire elemental plane has stated to slowly corrupt the plane causing it to become more poisonous and grotesque while influencing the fire elementals to become more evil and aggressive.


The shaky truce newer went away and is now only preserved by mutual self-preservation. Devils being more attuned to the fiery environment and better equipped and trained to preserve numbers and gain more individual strength but having difficulties to replenishing numbers, while the demons are completely opposite to that.
As both sides are mostly immune to the other sides greatest strengths, being immune to fire damage, the conflict has therefore been centered onto the scarce resources found in this fiery plane, to craft weapons and proceeding to practice the time honored traditions of hitting each other with shaped metal.

Leadership

The natives are lead by a extremely powerful Efreeti, but not all are united under this leadership, while the fiends are divided by their nature. The demons are lead by a single powerful demon that is able to create more demons by himself, while the devils have 3 leaders that have each taken over certain responsibilities, but are generally titled with: Strategist, General and Executioner. Their leaderships differs, each covering another aspect: Strategic, organizational and direct leadership.
