Ysgarth

The Twilit Realm. A pocket dimension within a pocket dimension. A pale and twisted reflection of Prismaria, where the light of Lux has never shone.
Ysgarth is a place beyond Prismaria. The light of sacred Lux does not shine there, and the Void Fog does not eternally threaten its borders. Ysgarth is a realm described only in the folklore and mythology of the cultures of Prismaria. Its inhabitants are described to be mysterious and strange folk,   Ysgarth is a realm of contradictions. Colours are bright and vibrant whilst being muted and de-saturated. The air is pleasantly warm, whilst an unnatural chill hangs in the still air.   Ysgarth is a realm in stasis. Whilst the world of Prismaria is erased and re-created with the turning of every Age, the descriptions of Ysgarth have remained relatively constant since its presence was first described in mythology and folklore.   Ysgarth's location in relation to Prismaria is of much dispute. Some theorize that the realm exists somewhere adjacent to Prismaria as its own pocket dimension, while others believe it occupies the same space as Prismaria. Based on the relatively static descriptions and depictions of the realm recorded through the Ages, it is theorized that Ysgarth is an echo of Prismaria as it existed many millennia ago, where the ancestors of Ysgarth's inhabitants created the realm in an attempt to escape annihilation during a long past Creeping Night.   Ysgarth is noted as being exceptionally metal poor, lacking any useful ores of most common metals. Iron, copper, lead, tin, silver, and gold are all conspicuously lacking, whilst pools of shimmering liquid "quicksilver", most likely mercury, are commonly described in folklore. The presence of ores of other common metals such as aluminium has never been confirmed.
