Session 48: The Collector of People Report
General Summary
The session began as he party had just entered into the Westfall Menagerie in the sunken city they had found below Jagaduth on the plane of Acheron.
In the menagerie, they found three signs pointing at different domed buildings of grey stone: "Reptiles", "Tropics", and "Coral Reef".
They began by investigating the "Reptiles" dome. It displayed an arid landscape of red earth in the middle of the night on the ceiling and walls. Several chests and crates were found there, and the party opened one to find some foodstuffs. Moving on to the tropics, that dome displayed a humid jungle, the sun shining through the boughs, simple stone huts having been constructed and left empty.
Finally, the party moved to the "Coral Reef". On the inside, they found, as expected, a shimmering reef of bioluminescent coral. Among the reef was a large octopus-like creature of rust-colored skin, carrying a large metal structure, and a horde atop its back. The creature welcomed the characters and introduced itself as Nim Karask. A brief discussion followed, with the characters requesting the key that they were after, to which Nim wanted them to offer something in return. In response, the party asked what Nim wanted, to which he said that if they would bring 6 Humanoids to its domain, Nim would give them the key.
The party left shortly after discussing amongst themselves whether or not to follow through with the deal that Nim proposed, deciding that they wished not to kidnap people for this extraplanar creature.
So, they returned and combat ensued, as Nim was not willing to part with the key for free, yet the party wished not to take Nim's deal.

2 Giant Shark (MM)
The War Priests, the Diviner Wizard, and the Shadar-kai Gloomweaver were standing in the structure that Nim Karask was carrying.
Omen swiftly dealt with one of the Sahuagin Sharks of Sekolah, but the other swam around to grapple, stun, and badly injure Nitt. Nim Karask managed to charmed both Cathrine and Eldon, forcing them both to move toward Nim. Eldon managed to break free from the charm, but Cathrine did not and ended up becoming grappled by Nim. Sky ended the Shark of Sekolah that grappled and damaged Nitt, then dashed towards the Sahuagin Duke, using his Action Surge to injure it. To finish the round, the Diviner Wizard used its Overwhelming Revelation but all party members succeeded in their saves, thanks to Baradin's Circle of Power, and the revelation stunned one of the Giant Sharks.
Arten and Omen worked together to kill the stunned Giant Shark, followed by Nim Karask casting Dispel Magic, to end Baradin's Circle of Power. In response, Eldon cast Hold Person on the four humanoids in the structure Nim Karask was carrying, successfully holding three of them, only one of the War Priests being unaffected. With his Circle of Power lost, Baradin activated the Twilight Sanctuary and then used it to dispel the charm of Cathrine, though she was already badly injured. In an attempt to separate the Sahuagin Duke, Sky activated his Ring of Wind, to create a Wind Wall. The Giant Shark that was still alive now moved in and downed Cathrine, though she did not sustain a Lingering Injury. To finish round 2, the War Priest affected by Eldon's Hold Person managed to break free.
The round began with Arten healing Cathrine, but she got downed again, without injury, by Nim Karask, before Nim cast Forcecage, trapping Cathrine and Omen for much of the fight, though Omen did heal Cathrine back to consciousness. In response to Nim's Forcecage Nitt cast Forcecage on Nim, forcing Nim to drop the structure it was carrying. Sky finished the Sahuagin Duke, and left the bloody Wind Wall to aid his allies. Both the War Priests attempted to Banish/Hold Baradin, but both spells failed, and finishing the round was the Diviner Wizard using its Overwhelming Revelation, affecting Arten, Baradin, and Eldon. Arten and Baradin succeeded, but Eldon became Stunned.
Nim Karask used its lair action and legendary action to escape from Nitt's Forcecage, then followed up with a Chain Lightning, which downed Eldon and gave him Kidney Failure. Baradin cast another Circle of Power and healed Eldon, bringing him to consciousness. Nim Karask then used its legendary actions to attempt to Dispel Magic on Baradin's Circle of Power again, and after some counterspells from both sides, rolled a 15 and just managed to dispel the circle. Eldon then cast a Chain Lightning in response, injuring many of the enemies, but Nim managed to reflect the spell at Eldon, downing him again, and giving him a Cardiac Injury. To finish the round, Sky consumed a healing potion after killing both the Shadar-kai Gloomweaver and the last Giant Shark, making it so he narrowly survived the Diviner Wizard once again using its Overwhelming Revelation.
Starting the round, Nim Karask cast a Lightning Bolt, which managed to down the heavily injured Sky but without a lingering injury. As Sky was downed, Omen used his second Balm of Peace Channel Divinity, to heal Sky. Baradin used a Preserve Life Channel Divinity to greatly heal both Eldon and Sky, and Eldon followed this up with a Mass Cure Wounds. Nitt then used a Cloudkill on one of the War Priests and the Diviner Wizard, which caused them to waste their turns to escape it, and damage them badly. The other War Priest, not in the Cloudkill, was then also badly injured from a Critical hit from Sky.
Arten began the round by killing the War Priest that Sky injured, but didn't fully manage to finish the Diviner Wizard. Nim Karask teleported behind the others, and grappled Nitt, then continued to attack him using legendary actions to down him. In the meantime, Baradin used a Sacred Flame to end the Diviner Wizard, while Eldon attempted to use the Water Jet from the Cube of Thávma to damage Nim, though Nim dodged it. Finishing the round was Sky, who nearly managed to end the last War Priest.
Nim Karask, now mostly alone decided to finish Nitt, who Nim separated from to rest before killing him, giving him a Horrible Scar. The party now moved towards Nim, and Sky finished the last War Priest, leaving Nim Karask alone against Arten, Baradin, Eldon, and Sky. Cathrine and Omen were both stuck in the Forcecage, and Nitt was killed.
In this round, to guarantee their victory, Baradin attempted a Divine Intervention, asking to remove the Forcecage holding Omen and Cathrine. Baradin rolled a 10 and got an answer from Zekizar, The Cloaked Serpent that cause a cyst to appear around the Forcecage, before "popping" it. This now meant Nim was alone against six members of the party.
The party all moves against Nim Karask and manages to bring it to death's door, though, Nim is doing much damage to Cathrine. Meanwhile, Baradin moves to bring Nitt back to life.
Now close to death and alone, Nim Karask uses a Dimension Door to escape, leaving the characters to suffocate unless Cathrine can cast Water Breathing.
