Everhold

Everhold
The capital of Goldmoor is located toward the southeastern edge of the nation located south of the great Mt. Teria.
The capital of Goldmoor hidden deep in the Parilla Fjords near the Eurus Straits around central Korien.

Government

The king and upper class, specifically the residents of the Magna quarter hold almost if not all of the authoritarian power in Everhold. The king is the highest authority and is accompanied by several vassals, courtiers, and advisors that are members of the Royal Assembly.

Defences

Everhold is one of the most defensible places on the planet, with the entire city being surrounded by vast mountain ranges, hindering access and the only real entrance being from the sea. In addition, the sizable guard forces are well-trained, especially in naval combat.

Industry & Trade

The city mostly uses the precious metals found in its mines to produce jewelry and silverware of the highest quality and Everhold is home to some of the best jewelers in the world. In the meantime, the fish serve to feed the populace as well as a source of income. The city’s economy is heavily regulated through merchant guilds and government factions. All trade is taxed and starting businesses is difficult.

Infrastructure

Everhold has an extensive road, bridge, and sewer system. Their sewers cover the entire underside of the city and can be a way to travel hidden from the public eye. Most of the city has roads, except the Dust District, where the roads are just flat rock and stone. Several bridges connect the city districts between the two canals that make the Aveo river flow through the center of the city, which is inhabited by many docks and shipyards since most of Everhold's trade goes by sea.

Districts

Dust District

The dust district is located furthest east in the city and marks the lower-end part of the city. Many of the inhabitants that live there work in the Ashworth Mines and the district is characterized by intense bursts of wind that happens every so often, blowing across and scattering dust from the mines into the district. During the bursts, visibility is limited, and objects that aren't being held or carried are blown toward the waterfront. Therefore it is surprising to see most of the larger streets in the quarter are very clean and empty of trash. The architecture of the district reflects the people in some sense. Long simple buildings made from grey stone flattened out or old buildings that the color has faded from, giving the city a very monochromatic look.
