The Orsolon Massacre
INTRODUCTION
The Orsolon Massacre marked the official end of The Seven Kingdoms Alliance and forever changed the landscape of Middleton. Porsonal, now called The Ithrium Empire, asserted its dominace by taking Orsolon in what can only be described as a total annhilation of the Orsolonic people. When Orsolon ceded their territory to Porsonal in 2003, they became the last of the original seven kingdoms formed by Archian folk-legend Jerald I to fall or reallign.
THE INVASION
In Atember of 2002 3p, the Lord of Porsonal- Miash Pooftar- ordered what troops remained in reserve to begin a full scale invasion of their ally and neighbior, Orsolon. The move took everyone completely by surprise. Orsolon was stretch thin on its southern border, fighting hard to maintain its sovreignty after the Kingdom of Tsonlar conquered Vocra, Wreinn, and Asmar during The Second Tsondalian Invasion. With no troops covering their western flank, Orsolon quickly fell into the hands of Miash and his troops. Prishmap fell in only a handful of sets, and by the end of the year, Miash and twenty-thousand mercenary soldiers were closing in on the nations capital of Bearwick. The last ruler of Orsolon, Irick the Bear, fled the city in Freezmir of 2003, sailing north toward the unknown wastelands and Caeveit. His navy was never heard of again, and many believe they all perished in the turbulent West Seas. Miash and his men commited countless warcrimes in their scorched earth techniques- some historians even estimate the number of civillian deaths in the six figures! However, there were none to oppose the brutal invasion. Tsonlar was scacily better and Archia was dealing with civil unrest and inner turmoil. Only Olchar refuted the invasion and called on Miash to be executed. This defiance began hostilities that were settled during The Siednik Wars.
RESULT
In the end, Miash's army killed some 40,000 Orsolon soldiers during the invasion, not counting the endless villages they pillaged, raped, and burned to the ground. Orsolon fell in a blaze of pure hatred, fueled by mere survival instincts. The lands surrounding Prishmap and Bearwick were engulfed into what later became known as the Ithrium Empire. The surviving Orsolonic population was treated little better by the Empire than they had during the invasion.
