Overlord Jerald Sarcho, son of Amusin
INTRODUCTION
Jerald Sarcho, the first overlord and founder of the Kingdom of Archia, was perhaps the greatest man to ever live in the second period. Jerald was a knight of Wrienn (ren) during the Heavenly War, and was one of the few mortals to slay Titans from among the Army of Darkness. His courageous feats and righteous cause paved the way for the race of men to take over the middle of Abeon. He would not live to see his kingdom thrive for more than a century, but his fight for freedom of mortals eventually led to a prospering Empire that lasted nearly four thousand years.
EARLY LIFE
Jerald was the firstborn son of Amusin, a human mortal slave of the Titans of Inellia, one of the greatest kingdoms during the second period of Abeon. His childhood was rife with starvation and hardships, and Jerald was left an orphan at age fourteen. With only his fathers golden greatsword and the heritage of a slave, Jerald taught himself to survive in the wilds of Terreron.For thirteen years, none of the tyrants of the titans heard or saw him, and many believed him long dead.
BIRTH OF A HERO
In the early months of Silvercrest, 792 2p, Jerald returned to Inellia, renewed in vigor and very much alive. Dressed in a simple bear skin cloak and leather armor, the forty year old human rose an army of rebels numbering just sixty. This small faction, calling themselves 'The Inellia Liberators', began to disturb the peace in Inellia. In Atember 798 2p, Jerald and his small mob was finally confronted by an army of sixteen titans. In a bloody battle at a farmstead, the entirety of the Inellia Liberator movement was extinguished, and Jerald was imprisoned in a dungeon somewhere in the wilds. In just seven years, the first rebellion against the titans had gone completely unnoticed until extinction. The young hero could not stand it. Just four years later, Jerald disappeared from the dungeon. Somewhere in the southern expanse of Abeon, Jerald began building an army of mortals, Arvenon and Humans alike, kindling a fire that would bring eternal consequences and justice to the unruly titans. It was here that Jubiniah the Wanderer first came into contact with the humans of Abeon. Jerald was hailed as the chosen hero of the great god Loscin, and with the blessing of this merciful, he was sent on his way, poised and ready to invade Inellia a second time. This time, however, he was followed by four hundred fierce warriors.
CONQUESTS OF JERALD THE PERSISTENT
The invasion of Inellia would forever shape the future of middleton. In 819 2p, Jerald and four hundred other mortals descended upon the large city of titans, and completely obliterated it. What was once a capital of trade and stronghold of the titans, was completely erased from the map and leveled in just six days. By mortals. Hundreds of titans lay dead, at the hands of Arvenon and humans- a feat not thought possible in those days. A fire of determination and justice gripped the little band, and quickly Jerald led the group all the way westward until they reached a city called Ophilia, situated between the west and south seas of Abeon. The first war against the titans came to a close with this siege, when the army of mortals brutally destroyed and leveled the trade port. In 831 2p, the entire Jade Expanse was considered free from titan oppression, and mortals from all over Abeon began to flock to this new 'safe haven'. However, differences arose between the humanoid and Arvenon factions, and Jerald exited the newly formed Kingdom in 834, with a mass following of humans. The kingdom later became what is commonly referred to as 'Tsonlar'. Jerald exiled himself with his small army of followers to the eastern penninsula, where they lived among the outcast valkyrie, who lived among the sea trade with the continents to the south. Jerald learned much about the titans here, and how to best defeat them. However, his bitterest anger was against the States of Tsonlar, who had cheated him out of kingship.
ARCHIA
His wrath soon found a new place to manifest, when the Titan State of Wrienn plunged into disarray in 899 2p. Mortal slaves began to rebel all up the massive territory, hearing tales of the Tsondalian Rebellion. Jerald took his followers into the plague ridden land and began a new revolt, aptly named 'The Wrienn Rebels'. Even though they were not citizens or slaves of the land, Jerald and his troop found themselves unanimously the leaders of the struggle, and thousands flocked behind them. Initial success was easy to find, as more and more mortals joined under his banner. But once they reached the capital of Wrienn, Jerald found himself directly against an immortal host of titans, only known by the title 'The Army of Darkness'. Thus, the defining moment of the Wrienn Rebellion was when Jerald I slew the first of the titans, and hope prevailed among the slaves. The Wrienn Rebellion lasted until 945 2p, when the titans eventually reclined into the north, accepting the terms of defeat given by the slaves. Thus ended the golden age of the immortals. Titans never again ruled Abeon.
THE STRUGGLE FOR LONGSTANDING PEACE
The unforeseen consequence of conquering all the lands of the titans was extreme factions created by the mortals. Jerald managed to hold together a group of cities most northern from Tsonlar in 962 2p, and crowned himself king of Archia, meaning circular, since the cities formed a crescent. Southwestern Abeon remained a dilluted mess of city states, all fighting constantly for who would maintain control. Jerald did his best to influence the factions remaining, and ultimately nine nations rose from the ashes of the northern titans: The Archian Empire, Orsolon, Porsonal (or Ithrium), Jolster, Asmar, Vocra, Olchar, Indinell, and Wrienn. Of these, only Archia, Orsolon, and Ithrium lasted beyond the year 2000 3p.
FAMILY LIFE
Jerald Sarcho married Aubrus Mortalson in 963, and they quickly produced four children together in Jerald's old age. His firstborn, Reginald, would later become the second High King of Archia in 1047.
