S01E15 - Fallout - Series One Epilogue

General Summary

Our team find themselves recovering from the events they have just been part of; having unwittingly and unknowningly changed the world. At Seraphim Manor, the Millennium Marvels regroup to discuss their options, which range from keeping the PRISM and experimenting on it themselves, to handing it in to the government. Perhaps the most surprising of the suggestions is to return the device to Prescott Industries. Not something this narrator was expecting to hear come from the mouths of Marvels.
The group check over Grayson, other than bruises and a few lacerations, he is fine. It appears that they only beat him for the fun of it, not for any information. They bring Rochelle Carter into the discussions on the PRISM, relying somewhat on her expertise with the device to try to formulate a plan. Psyren shows them all what the PRISM looked like when open. A mindbending twisting shape that is ever-changing in impossible angles. The group can't look at it for long without feeling nauseous and suffering some degree of vertigo. The illusion is also very difficult to maintain.
There are discussions as to what the device is and what it is used for. The question is also raised of 'why here?', to which a suggestion of 'perhaps this is a nexus?' is bandied about. The group decide that they will try to ascertain what they can of the device before someone comes for it. During this work, Psyren decides to try seeing what is inside the PRISM by shifting her senses outside her body. She moves her senses through the device's outer casing and into the maelstrom of power, dimensions, worlds, times and places within. It tries to pull her deeper, towards the black hole at the centre but she pulls back out in time. Crusader considers interfacing with the device, but thinks better of it. Perhaps the wisest choice of the night.
Lady Liberty decides that she needs to talk to Poppy Patel, so they arrange to meet up and, unkown to Lady Liberty, Psyren was in situ for the interview, using her power to allow her senses to travel outside her body. Lady Liberty struggles with trying to not say everything to Poppy, calling in the group to help her. Only Djinn answers the call. As Lady Liberty divulges everything, including her origin, Djinn corroborates the stories. Poppy then leaves.
Poppy returns to The City Runner offices, where she removes a device from her pocket. She fast forwards through the playback, listening a couple of times to her best friend telling her she is an alien; that she changed the world. "Damn it!" she says quietly as she starts writing the article that could make or break not only her career but one of the most important friendships she has.
Two days later...
Psyren, the newest member of the team, travels to the building used by Janus and Ghost Squad. She enters the building quietly and goes to the room where Grayson Prescott was held. Using a power of postcognition, she has a look back at the events of the Second Catalyst Event, soecifically the Storyteller and the young boy she had with her. She jears the words spoken, an involuntary shiver traveling down her spine, "This one isn't for you, dear, but for our observer. Once Upon A Time..." The words following that sentence lost in a very quiet whisper. As Psyren watches, the young boy turns to her and smiles kindly at her. After that, both boy and Storyteller disappear.
Psyren then checks the upper floor. She observes Janus using teh power of the PRISM on a member of Ghost Squad, though she doesn't observe the effect. She also observes the moment that Lady Liberty takes hold of the PRISM, it's power passing through her, being split into infinite possibilities as she becomes incandescent for a moment. There is then a soundless explosion of power as this energy is released, much more powerful than the original Catalyst Event, it will only be a few days before the enormity of it unfolds. She observes the scene where LL takes the PRISM and JANUS changes the leader of Ghost Squad
