Savange Dompress's Tomb

Located in secret at the northern border of the Sigh Dunes, this sub stucture was bravely built into the middle of the Sigh Dungeon. The tomb is built around where Savanage Dompress did battle with the The Queen SIgh.

Purpose / Function

This tomb serves only two purposes. First it houses, guards, and proclaims the history of Savange himself. Secondly it provides a trial to any Burgeond who would grow their Inversion powers beyond what they are currently. While the Tomb is not massive, is it housed in an extremely dangerous region. This on top of the fact that the Tomb itself has traps and dangers.   Those who come to the tomb learn Savange's story and grow their own. This always allows a Burgeond to increase their own abilities in response.

Architecture

The building is built after Savange's homland to the south where his wandering tribes of nomadic barbarians did battle with those of the world tree. Huge wooden arches support firey chandeliers in wide open spaces. Savange appreciated archetecture that intimiadated in a simple way, big rooms. Savanage also enjoyed the Hazfens use of open walls and doorways which greatly influenced his choices of contruction in his orginal, now destroyed, temple within Ampoule.   His tomb by result has many entrances and few rooms. This allows Sigh to wander it's halls. Though few do.

Defenses

Several dozen creatures have been eternally chained to the tomb. Though meer shadows of Savanges original foes, their souls now serve to recreate shadowed memories of their powerful living pasts. The Sigh have since learned to avoid the Tomb due to these traps slaughtering their kind. Even when defeated, the shadows soon return to defend the tomb of the one who killed them all those hundreds of years ago.   Savange did not appreciate underhanded methods of combat that took away from the clash of wills he enjoyed on an open dune battlefield. No pit falls, flamethrows, or other classic dungeond traps have been found in his tomb as a result. Those who would employ such underhanded methods to circumnavigate his battles will find themselves face to face with his greatest kill in life.

History

Savange Dompress was noted as saying, "Do not note me by face, witness me act!"   The man was against any statues or paintings being done of him and only wanted what he did in life to be remembered. There are four main great acts of Savange that are show in his tomb. Each paragraph is spread across the vast chambers and is said to only reveal itself to those who bath the walls in blood.

The Destroyers Children

When Savange first became Burgeond, the destroyer had passed throug the desert not but a year ago. It was only then that the true understanding of the destoryers horrors became apparent to the ancient Hazfeni. Destroyer Breath has seeped deep into the sand and brought forth from the hidden grains the horrors we now know today as monsters.   Savange was already a great warrior, but his Burgeond ascension allowed him to protect the early Hourglass and capital Ampoule against the roaming hoards of abomonations that were once commons beasts and men of the dunes. While most of the desert was scorched dry and people were slaughtered in their homes, Savange held. A first generation Burgeond of unknown name's death caused Savange to enter his first Burgeond powered rage after they had held the Hourglass for a month together.   "He held the line. Even in death." Savange is quoted speaking on the figure after the battle.   Savange then settles into the dunes as the Destroyer had moved far across the continent. He married and had children with several Hazfeni women. While his ability to hold together marriage was weak, his children loved him. One of his few depecitions is by his young son done in poor chalk drawings, the stone is now preserved in the capital as is official portrait. It is theorized 18% of all first generation Burgeond descendants can trace their lineage back to Savange.

The Everwar

The destroyer was slain some years later by The Sentinels . Creations of the beast slowly became more rare and retreated to the dark caverns they still breed in today. Though much time had passed and the Hazfen had warped beyond recognition.   The then young Cherloa had organized the blue dragons of the desert into a formidable army. The Sigh emerged from their dungeon in the north and ravaged the land further and further south each day. The Lutae dwarves aligned with the newly minted Dawn Empire and began to build mines, pollute the river, and attack Hazfeni settlements.   Savange saw every front. From the battles with Cherloa herself, to the slaughter of hundreds of dwarves. Savange was obssesed with the new Sigh threat. The threat of Sigh came closer and closer to the small city he had founded to the Nnorth of Ampoule in an oasis. There his many divorced wives and children lived along with a few hundred Hazfeni locals.   While battling a Cherloan assault on the city of Selam, a titanc Sigh, later recognized as the The Queen SIgh, wiped out his city, who's name was also erased from history as no one outside the city attended the short naming cermony in which Savange had told his people the name of it was. It was a time of war, and such things were trivial. From there out Savage promised,   "endless battle. The Sigh are monsters who will know a true monster. The war shall be something different and brutal. An everwar they cannot escape except in death."   The saying is now attriubted to be the tragedy of fighting the Sigh, as it it theorized they are from the abyss, and therfor resurrect after dying on the material plane and can then return as long as a passage exsists. Passage always has for the Sigh.

The Great Beast

Savange dedicated his life to the hunting of the Queen Sigh. But when Cherloa's cult and family succedded in the taking of the south west, Riz Ath and the other first Burgeond begged him to come repel the dragons. At first Savange did not come, and dedicated himself to the Sigh genocide. But when his lost friends city was attacked by the dragons, he was convinced.   The dragons had stolen his friend corpse and were planning on using it in the ritual of the blue greatwyrm. The Burgeond learned of this, an in an unprecedented event since the destroyer, every current Burgeond alive lead a massive host against Cherloa in her centeral lair. The battle field was rocked as demi gods clashed with dozens of blue dragons of all ages. By the end of the clash, more glass than sand coated the dunes. The lightning breath of the dragons satiatied the air and mythical storm clouds blocked out Lutaes light completly. It is said the Sigh and Dawn dwarves retreated from the desert in feat the Burgeond had created another wonder relic like the Hourglass.   In that battle two more first generation Burgeond died, leaving less than ten Burgeond alive. The second generation of Burgeond hadn't been created yet. Dozens of dragons corpses coated the battlefield. Cherloa herself had been beaten into retreat and lead her immediate family in betreyal of the other blue dragon family that remained. The remainings blue dragons completed the ritual with the additonal Burgeond corpses, and a blue greatwyrm was born. The Greatwyrm immedieatly destroyed nearly a quarter of the Burgeonds forces upon its birth. After another hour of attacks from the Burgeond, the newly born greatwyrm was slain. The ensuing death throws of the dragon vaporized its nearby family members who tried to protect it. Even during this detonation of raw zeal and lighting, Savange descended into the eye of the storm and prevent the Greatwyrm from reviving like all other recorded greatwyrms in history had.   Thus it is said Savange single handidly kept the Burgeond legacy alive. Now to this day the blue greatwyrm has not been recreated. It is said Savange sundered the cycle of rebirth for blue dragons.   Though when Savange returned to the north to continue his campaign he found the Sigh cowering in their dungeon. So he lead a great force with the now veteran army of the Supremacy. Despite the Sighs concentrated area, and powerful attack force, Savange barely reached the Sigh Queens spawning pool. There he did battle with the Queen and her titans. When it was clear all of them were to much her ordered retreat. He held the deep rock tunnel entrance. Through that tunnel alone the Sigh could not burrow out of the wall into his people due to Riz Ath's genius transmutation spells for such a purpose.   Savange's corpse was later recoved in the infinte Abyss by a adventuring party with a Hazfeni member that wished to remain anynonyms. His corpse now resides in the heart of the tomb where you may be reading this stories end.

Tourism

Newly minted Burgeond often travel to this tomb as it is the least secret of the first generation Tombs. They rarely bring others with them as the trip is easiest done without attracting swarms of sigh. Some adventerers in seek of the Sigh Dungeonds hoards have also stumbled upon the location.
