Gith of Lient'roc

Gith

Gith were once enslaved by the illithid empire. After their successful rebellion, the race splintered into two groups. The Githyanki followed the original leader of the rebellion with goals of conquering the multiverse. The Githzerai thought the gith were free enough without their oppressors, and wanted not to become the oppressors themselves. The Githzerai were ultimately defeated and driven to Limbo, while the Githyanki maintain holdings in empty illithid strongholds in the Astral Plane. The Githyanki's goals are to conquer the multiverse and exterminate both the illithids and the Githzerai.   Due to their years under illithid enslavement, gith developed powerful innate psionics. They generally have the ability to planeshift, bringing them into contact with the Material Plane when they wish.

Nai'ral and Khalog

A pair of outcast Gith, Nai'ral and Khalog sought a way to return to their brethren. Nai'ral is a Githzerei and Khalog a Githyanki, but they found community in each other and they began searching the planes for artifacts they could take back to the Githyanki and earn Kahlog's redemption and Nai'ral's acceptance, hopefully. While on the material plane, they earned a nasty reputation as greedy pirate-types with no regard for others' lives.   They were eventually ousted and sent into Lient'roc from Baldur's Gate. They had little trouble living in the caves, being used to illithid bases, and eventually found a Cheloran priest (Yonsur Tonrak. Using Nai'ral's mind-altering psionics, they convinced him that they were sent by Correllon, who wanted Kraa'thom to join the ranks of the main elven pantheon. They only needed to fulfill the prophecy of Chelor Dun, after which both brother would be freed from their demigod coils and would ascend to godhood.
Two Gith are living in Lient'roc and using the Chelorans to build powerful items for themselves and their brethren. They are somewhat outcast from Gith society, and hope to use the Chelu-kaan to bring themselves back into the fold.
