Poneren

Magic.   The world is held together by magic. From the smallest part of the smallest atom to the multiverse as a whole, everything believes everything should exist, and so everything does. Without magic, without belief, nothing would be. And Poneren is the place where this is most obvious, the place where belief most easily connects and changes things.   Humanity came to Poneren from the stars. Trapped on a distant world, survival was difficult, science and technology insufficient to sustain them on a world so completely infused with magic.   Without science and the structure it enforced however, magic would run unchecked and again humanity would be in danger. The history of Poneren is a story of finding a balance between science and magic, between knowledge and belief.
