The Forgotten Children

A strange legend from the depths of a dream are remembered only by a few, of which are unknown to most of the world. There is something, some phenomena referred to as the forgotten children. Thought to be known but forgotten by the early natives of Polarium, Jane Venn strangely discovers a fragmented recollection of events that never happened in her past, as if lived through the perception and memory of another, with herself marked as a forgotten child. Though it does not make much sense to the mortals involved, there is something linking this sensation to Polarium specifically, linking a long forgotten history of time to this place and this moment. What does it mean? Nobody seems to know.

Historical Basis

Despite Jane having a strong sense of familiarity to the concept of the forgotten children, there is virtually no evidence to their existence. In fact, it doesn't appear as if anybody else knows. The very memory itself is impossible and paradoxical, yet it persists for whatever reason. The evidence is what can only be felt.

In Art

A specific song seems to stir memories of this past more than anything else, a song called "Wayfaring Stranger" (Liberia in America). The connection may not be literal, but the voices of these children, or rather how they feel in song matches the emotions of a moment lost in time, a moment shared by those forgotten.
