Granite Town
A large dwaven city on the surface, mostly dealing in trade with the other races.
Demographics
Granite Town probably has the most diverse population of all the settlements in the Utrimar Kingdom. Most of the other races aren't too fond of living most of their lives in one of the underground cities.
Government
Granite Town has its own local government building that provides services to its inhabitants. Clan Gneissbiter has its ancestral halls here as well.
Industry & Trade
Granite Town is known for its fine selection of dairy products and stoneworks. There's also a small group of fishermen, due to the proximity of Rubble Lake. Being one of the few dwarven cities that's not underground makes it an important airship harbour as well.
History
Granite Town was built after the collapse of old Granite Town. The caverns and tunnels that made up Granite Town collapsed during an earthquake. In turn, this collapse created Rubble Lake.
Architecture
Being one of the few dwarven cities that has been built on the surface, it serves as a prime example for dwarven archetecture and mastery of construction when not hewing something completely out of stone. Although they have made sure not to skimp on the amount of materials used. The size of the stone blocks used is immense and the sheer force that was needed to move these blocks must have been great.
Geography
Granite Town is situated near a large ice lake and a dense redwood forest. It sits comfortably at the foot of the Frost Giants.
Natural Resources
A well established lumberyard provides a steady supply of wood for the city. Although it is not nearly enough to provide for the entire kingdom, most of the wood in used in the nearby mines, to provide support for the tunnels.
Part of the nearby forest has been cleared to create a pasture for the Yodolin that are kept.
