The magic cube of Burik Item in Phaldorya (Eng) | World Anvil

The magic cube of Burik

The mistery that lies beyond

The magic cube of Burik is the most important finding to have been recovered from the settlement with the same name. Lucas Almeyda after finding this strange item, misintepreted some of the High Kharmian runes on it, assuming that it was the name of the place. The cube is a structure of rock with coloured glass facets that can be twisted around, forming different configurations. There are fifty-four facets, nine of each of the six colours. Nobody has yet fully understood the inner mechanics of the item, but Lucas trying to figure out how it worked has suddenly disappeared into thin air, for this reason his younger colleagues have claimed it was a magical accident. An investigation from the Be Chuille's Inquisition followed temporarily interrupting the campaigns.

Mechanics

The cube is a, suprinsingly light, cube of granite measuring five point six meters on each side, with a darker core barely visible through the marking between the squares. It presents multiple facets that can move around, however, at a closer look it appears evident that the central cross of six facets remains static to its core, appearing to be a unique structure. Each square composing the central cross, one of each colour, presents a similar etching: Burik. The other facets can thus move around it, creating multiple configurations. At the completion of certain specific configurations some magic spell can be released, such as the one that has caused the vanishing of Lucas Almeyda.
