Golgary Prime
A "blasted realm," Golgary Prime is a border world between various realms, as such it is neither permanent nor capable of sustained growth or production. Although time flows slower in blasted realms, Golgary Prime's fate is to be rendered inert and for all of its proto-matter to dissolve into nothingness. However, its rulers, the archons of the Golgarian Hegemony intend to anchor their realm onto its shadow in a mundane realm, Earth, specifically the city of and environs of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is unclear whence Golgary Prime began, but for whatever reason, the interplanar forces that created it, drew from rifts in and around Calgary. Numerous shadowy "blasted realms" were created and most were ephemeral things that blinked out of existence shortly after they were generated. Others lasted longer; others became hellish blasted realms, devoid of and incapable of supporting life not augmented by preternatural forces—magic; psionics; divine, elemental, or fiendish power; or the like—like that of the collective known as the Golgarian Hegemony who made their base in the most stable of these realms, which they designated Golgary Prime. It was then that their Glorious Purpose was begun: to overlay the blasted realm onto the mundane city that cast its shadow. If successful, the two realms would merge, and thousands of mortals would be destroyed. The contaminative effects of a blasted realm would spread outwards and blight the world, but not before the archons would have collected the wealth, power, souls, and materials they wanted. At the completion of the the Glorious Purpose, the decay that defines blasted realms would consume and obliterate the mundane world, but by then, the archons would have long abandoned their consortium for other worlds.
