Qualifications

Unqualified generally, they own a castle or a town most often. They are usually brought up with teaching of diplomacy

Duties

They run their barony.
 They will run it financially, and keep their people safe. 
When their Lord or King goes to war, it is their duty to build a small section of the grand army which they will then lead to war.

Responsibilities

They have responsibilities to their Lord, King and their peasants.

Benefits

Their are better off in life their peasants, but compared to a Lord or even a King they are much less well off.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Peasants have been known to replace them if it calls for it. However any liege Lord or King could take the barony from a baron and replace them.
