Personal history
Born in the year 1409, Arathorn was brought up among other Dukes in a boarding school at SwampsShore called the Virtue Academy. A place where most nobles come to learn their trade.
He spent most of his younger years at the Academy, only occasionally seeing his family. This somewhat estranged him from his parents and siblings. Often called the Black Horse. During his time at Swampshore, he met Reginald Reed, the future ruler of the Swamplands. They became close friends and were known troublemakers in court.
When he turned 13, he was given fighting lessons by the Archon of the Sentinels . He found a gift with the Spear, a weapon that would be very useful in his future. The Archon saw his gift with weapons, and asked their family whether he could join the Sentinels when he turned 18, they accepted.
He graduated from the Academy, and joined the Sentinels. He served them well for 10 years, until the unthinkable happened. Arathorn's older brother, William, died in a duel. The family was thrown into chaos, as their dukedom had no heir. Arathorn realized what he must do and left the Sentinels to lead them. Usually, Sentinels aren't allowed to simply leave but due to his friendship with Reginald Reed he was granted his discharge from duty.
The people of Haroldry didn't trust the new Duke, he was considered an outsider due to his long time spent in Swampshore. In fact he hadn't been home in 22 years by that point. But he earned their trust when a big bandit band, which had been causing trouble for months, was crushed by him and a small army. The name Black Horse, stopped meaning Outsider and became a name for a Warrior.
Arathorn was a hero to the people and defended them for years. He married Merrissa Ralis when he was 32, and had four children. Margaret, Richard, Reginald and John.
He gained a fast, strong black horse as a gift when King Jon Reed became king, his way of thanking him for his support during his fathers death. He also asked him to become the Master-of-Laws in his council, an offer he accepted.
When the Rebellion began, Arathorn was replaced in his position but took no offense as he was getting on in years.

Graduated from the Virtue Academy and was a squire of the Archon of the Sentinels. He graduated from the Virtue Academy with a glowing record, and could of gone on to lead a town if he didn't join the Sentinels
