Jonan sat alone on the hard wooden bench outside the Master Healer's office. He studied his muddy green boots and sighed. The Master Healer would never take on a dirty druid boy as an apprentice, no matter how good Jonan's skills had become. Mariann was wrong. He would never be a healer.
The door swung open. The Master Healer appeared beside Jonan and the boy leapt to his feet.
"Ah, there you are my new apprentice!"
Housing the greatest healer in all Mescar, the medical wing named Kryzee Kaymana in the capitol's royal fortress is the greatest and most esteemed location of the medical arts. Every young wanna-be healer dreams of attending here where the most severe, complex and undiscovered illnesses are treated.
Part of the Castle
Built into the mighty fortress of Karsah Kryzee, this is the largest of all the places of healing anywhere in Mescar. Boasting two wards and fifteen separate rooms, Kryzee Kaymana is where you want to be if you develop any kind of serious illness. The medical facility itself is situated on the western side of the castle and is built into one of the turrets. The views and fresh air through the windows is invigorating to patients and many living in the fortress stop by just for a moment to gaze out over the Mes Pass.
The Perfect Place to Learn
Kryzee Kaymana is regarded as the best place to learn the healers trade in all on Mescar and even surrounding territories. The apprentice learning program ingrained into Kryzee Kaymana is technically also a part of Mes University as the Master Healer is a teacher there. He runs both healer's programs: the short, half year internships and the lifelong apprentice-to-healer path. While many modern healers have participated in the half year internship, only those with special promise are admitted into the apprentice program.
Kaymana
The medial wing is named using an ancient word meaning health and healing. Although none now speak this language, the overall effect of this word feels positive yet with soft undertones. The only named healer's hall, the choice of Kaymana was a good one as approval for the medical wing increased after the naming.
