Session 5: Desperate Houseparty of Midport

General Summary

We walk into the chamber that houses The Archipelago. We see 9 members: Cwenmaer of the Bright Star (human), Jorunn Jorunnsonn XIII (Dwarf), Leofwyn Grayfrost (human), Ellie Honeysett (Halfling), Crinna Bloodtooth (Goliath), Xanaan Zeigit Qoldri Tirgess Kilryd (Dragonborn), Vesh (Elf), Zet Flinner (Gnome), and Budd (Folbolg). After name dropping Inquisitor Hyramm, the group passes the Proof of Innocence vellum written by Neskur Xohim and each Archipelago member reads. Cwenmaer casts the spell Zone of Truth and Skorpa is ironically the only one that is able to tell a lie.
Mysterious remnant shards were shared with the Archipelago and Cwenmaer summons a celestial Solar being, Gavriel, who is able to recognize that the fragments are heart remains of another Solar being, Ramiel.
Ramiel was last heard of meeting up with Neskur. After the launch of Neskur’s expedition, Ramiel was no longer heard from. Gavriel attempts to apprehend Neskur but is unable to do so, likely due to the barrier of The Arcane Circle. The group is to stay within Midport.
The group has downtime. Everyone returns to The Mute Mage tavern. Daz identifies the remaining unknown items: Bag of Holding and Drift Globe, as well as identifying Skorpa’s weapons: Mysterious Greatsword +1 and Shield of the Titan Knight.
Daz returns to his Artisan Guild to rest. Skorpa and Krathag visits the smithy, manned by Gnorr Hammerfist and his son Arnorr. In one week’s time, Gnorr will repair Skorpa’s helmet and craft something out of the colossus bone for Krathag, at the cost of ¼ of the remaining bone material. Excess equipment were sold off (shield, 2x short sword).
Elgin / Arete / Miranro / Skorpa head off to the Temple of Altir. In the meantime, Elgin acquires an enchanted performance backdrop for 1 gold, haggled from 10. Arete talks to the priest of the Temple, asking about the intention of Altir and if he has any motive about the destruction of Dheg Lhodar. Miranro is quoted a price for his eye regeneration of 5k, haggled down with Elgin and Arete to the cost of a 7th level spell.
Arete (in dwarven disguise) / Elgin / Skorpa / Krathag visit the The Axe and Anvil bar. Elgin, Skorpa, and Krathag. Dwarves are aware that Elgin, Skorpa, and Krathag are suspicious figures. They leave the bar. As Arete attempts to leave the bar too, one dwarven figure stops him with a confident smile. Arete talks to this dwarf truthfully, and the dwarf smiles and says “things are going according to plan”.
It is learned that King Grun is well and alive! And he is collecting resources to establish a new home for the Dwarves, right outside of Midport.
In the evening, Elgin does a performance over at The Princely Paunch and garners 500 gold from Taliya, the owner of the Bar. Elgin, Skorpa, Arete, and Krathag leave Princely paunch to head back to Mute mage, only to be engaged by hidden enemies. A total of 2 spiders and 3 drow ambush the group. After a fierce battle, a victory was won. Virgil was sent after the one of the retreating Drow, and continued to pursue beyond the range of Arete's link.
During the battle, Daz is awoken at his Merchant Guild with noises of rumbling and shouting in the distance. He makes his way to the group, last departing from them at the Mute Mage. He realizes that he was being stalked by a figure, jumping from roof to roof. With spectacular timing, just like with everything else he does, he blows a wind of gust at the figure and bolts for the tavern. The group is reunited at the Mute mage, with loot of a special studded leather armor and special short sword, and an unconscious boi. We disrobe the drow and bound him with rope, next to a sleeping Miranro and rest for the night.
