Sedendum

This Crystal is found all through the kingdom of Karo. In every shrine and church and shrine to Palor these crystals act as the main centerpiece. Sedendum is Used by the church as its prayer stones and all who pray to palor give this stone magical power. magical power the church uses to do holy acts and empower their priests. There's much mystery surrounding the crystals and their origin but only the High pope knows the true answers.

Material Characteristics

Sedendum appears as a slightly transparent sky blue crystal. It gives off a constant low hum and a small vibration.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The must used properties is its ability to store magical energy from those who physical start and focus on it. A spell caster can then focus of the crystal and cast spells using the magic stored. The church gather magic for those who pray to Palor into the crystal Then use the crystal as power sources for holy magic.

Geology & Geography

The crystals are found in the land of glacies. Only the most skilled adventurers are allowed to venture there to gather gems for the church. No other countries attept this venture do to how dangerous and costly it is.

Origin & Source

The church says they are blessing from Palor placed in the lands of glacies for those worthy of its power to venture and find. Most other countries believe the cold temperatures of glacies actually freeze magic and give it physical form. The University of Saval have recently hypothesis that these crystals are the byproduct of some extremely powerful magical phenomenon. However no one has any concrete evidence on where sedendum comes from.

History & Usage

History

When originally discovered by the church they did extensive testing to see if it was safe and reliable. After they concluded it was they launched hundreds of expeditions into glacies but only those headed by Dumar Lux ever succeeded. Lux was able to use this to rapidly push through the ranks of the church as they became more and more reliant on sedendum. When Dumar Lux became High Pope the shipments of sedendum became more stable and have remained so since.

Discovery

It was discovered by an expedition lead by the church to explore rumors of great power in glacies. All members of the expedition died except for Dumar Lux Who returned with the Sedendum as well as the secret to finding it. He would later become the High Pope of the church

Everyday use

It is most common used by priest to help their magical power and by the people as a prayer stone.

Industrial Use

While its remains under the control of the priest, they will use Sedendum to help create building, grow crops, purify water and all sorts of other industrial uses

Refinement

The gems can be carefully carved but only by the most skilled gem cutters

Hazards

While mostly harmless when inert Sedendum become unstable when charged. It has a tendency to explode when exposed to physical or magical damage

Reusability & Recycling

Sedendum shows no sign of degrading after use nor any sighs of aging allowing it to be charged and used again and again

The gem is rarely ever traded and kept under close supervision of the church.

The gem must be secured and kept still as it becomes highly explosive the more charged it becomes
