Session 56: Catching Up Report in Pathfinder Pirates | World Anvil

Session 56: Catching Up

General Summary

Come morning, we hit Stabby with an impromptu health inspection to harass them. It's been far too long since we've interacted with the crew and we're trying to make up for lost time. With curiosity still eating away at some of us though, we round up Nathan and bring my imposter's corpse to the medical bay to begin dissecting it. Serenity is asked to lead the process given her medical expertise and when nothing inside nor outside the body looks out of the ordinary, Nathan collects its horns for alchemy materials and I tell Serenity that she should use the rest of the bones as an anatomical model.   It becomes a roast for Paul very quickly afterwards, which angers our sentient weapon friend. He takes control of TT and begins to threaten all of us, her included. He points out how TT's already taken out Amelia before and he's confident Serenity would go down easily, so he ends up aiming my way to call me the only actual threat in the room. Poor Paul must've forgotten about the existence of the monkey's paw though, so as he finally backs down, TT uses her last wish to rid the gun of Paul's sentience. The wish goes through and thrusts us into a round of paranoia, so Julius is dragged in to clean up the potential mess. We all split up and investigate every inch of the ship for possible sentience that doesn't belong there. We conclude that if Paul's sentience still exists, it's not here and therefore, it's become someone else's problem.   After I thoroughly harass our new pilot, Melanie, Amelia wants to interrogate my imposter's corpse before Serenity finishes cleaning it and putting it on display. Instead of being greeted by my imposter's spirit, or lack of, we're introduced to Ester, who was one of the many children that went missing within the house. She doesn't remember much of anything, aside from the fact that she was separated from her friends. None of us are sure how her spirit reached us, but we assume she was left wandering after she died, and then attached herself to the only body available. Whether it was intentional or not, we're not sure.   Ester doesn't want to remain in a body that's unable to grow, so Serenity releases her, allowing her to pass on peacefully. The situation leaves us all shaken, so we part ways for the day to find our own ways to cope with it. After three days, we arrive at the capital city of Valimar. The admiralty board is gathered and we make our way for the house of parliament. It's there that we meet Llewellyn, the prime minister; and her council. They're still very thankful for what Inami and the crew did for them, so they allow us to purchase a privateer license. They don't have any jobs for us currently, so we're pointed in the direction of the Storyteller's Guild and off we go.
