Session 43: A-head of the Game

General Summary

After waiting around for awhile, Vashti returns with Isvoth under the guise of King Leopold still. He’s impressed that we made it this far and he wants to know why we went through all of this trouble. We bring up the rakshasa eyes we need to complete a deal, stating that a blind rakshasa had pointed us to Isvoth. He doesn’t like this one bit and when Amelia boasts that she could summon No-Eyes Earl, Isvoth asks her to do so. Our buddy who set us out on this stretch of our trip is summoned into the room and Vashti is tasked with dealing with him.     Isvoth is happy to give us a pair of rakshasa eyes, so long as we do a favor for him as well. An elven politician by the name of Ambry Haver went back on a deal the two of them made and cheated him. He doesn’t want her dead, but he does want to send a message. Six out of seven targets will be with an envoy coming into Winthrop within the week. They’ll be joined by an elven ambassador who Isvoth wants spared. He wants us to collect all of the targets heads so that he can send them straight to Ambry’s doorstep.     Our best bet is to plan a dinner for the envoy and poison them all, so we’re given a townhouse that becomes a hellhole shortly after. Amelia has a way of making poisons from spells being cast on her and with her ordering her zombie to do just that, we all clear house. I take some time to teach Tanner how to use his new daggers and TT decides to take it up a notch and gives this child a gun. Night falls and Amelia doesn’t have the poisons ready. After she mercilessly bullied TT all day, she gets an incredibly rude awakening the next day. She’s bald, bitter, and ready to go to war.     Everybody gets involved in this morning fiasco, me and Inami trying to hold Amelia back while Cayde viciously defends TT, who already has her gun aimed at Amelia. It’s a disaster that ends with Amelia bloodied after Cayde gets a hold of her and as I finally pin her to the floor, Julius storms out to put an end to the childishness. Amelia’s dragged every which way for her behavior and when Julius tells her to grow up, she goes incorporeal in a fit of rage. Eventually, she reemerges long enough for him to magically return her hair.     The rest of us head downstairs for breakfast, leaving TT and Amelia alone in the hallway. TT goes off on her, revealing that she does consider Amelia a friend and if she truly didn’t care about her, she wouldn’t have agreed to make this trip. All she wants to do is protect all of us. With that off of her shoulders, we finish eating and head out to find a cleric to patch Amelia up. We have a new plan for dealing with the elven envoy that’s much simpler. We’ll act like body collectors, so when Amelia makes contact with the elves and they suddenly drop dead, we can grab the bodies and slip away with them.     We need a cart of corpses to sell the act, so as Amelia gets healed, TT asks the priests of the church if we can go pay our respects to the dead.
