The Subway to Hell?

The Long Empty Part of the Tunnel

General Summary

Ok, so it's probably not going to hell, especially with those large boulders in the way. Coin, Gnoll, and Gnoll's spider Nan arrived in Patchwork, apparently arriving in Winter when the rates are cheaper. After ignoring each other and playing in the snow for a while, they located a shaft down to something the players would recognize as a defunct kind of steam train, but the characters could make neither heads nor tails of it. They decided it would be a reasonably safe place to stay for the night, as it has a closing door.   Did they set a watch schedule? Hmm. You know, that's a darn good question, isn't it?

Some highlights:

  • Coin gathered some rocks. Later, she learned that the first part of the secret is to bang the rocks together. Also, those stone rails are darn slippery!
  • Gnoll became a "Rolling Gnoll, covered in Coal," although that does sound better in Elvish. She also met the tree lady, which is an odd name for Coin, considering Gnoll is the druid here. Why do people demolishing buildings were gloves? Apparently it's to keep from cutting themselves on debris, such as broken glass.
  • Nan lent aid, but it was not super effective. Also, spiders can climb surfaces a lot easier than Gnomes or Elves.

Notes

This was essentially an introductory session, still getting used to using Roll20, and slowly easing into the world.
