Parime Founding Colonies

"One thing that unites all of Parime is that the early PFC are almost universally considered the 'good old days'. Parime's a pretty secular place, and yet their admiration for the original crew of the Kemys and the founders of their civilizations borders on the religious, being the subject of the majority of their universal holidays and shared cultural traits, even their taboos: Talk trash about your colony's leader all you want, but dare to insinuate Ensign Perez wasn't a paragon and you'll find your belongings out of your quarters and in stable orbit around Uphi."
— Rosalina Toro - Reflections of Parime, Revised Edition.

History

When the Kemys was crippled beyond repair by unexpected solar-activity, Captain Karina Stolarz was forced to abandon the ship with as many hands as possible in the colony-landers ahead of schedule. Despite the further loss of one of the landers and the precious technology and information within, the remaining two ships were able to make an emergency-landing on the surface of Falias with only minimal casualties. The crew were forced to begin construction of rudimentary colony habitation using only what little they could salvage from the Kemys, including cannibalising the landers themselves for components, creating the first colony beneath the surface of the moon and calling it New Kemys.   For the first few years of colonisation, the crew followed the same hierarchy and chain of command as they did within the ship, but as the population expanded through thawing of recovered cryo-statis pods and fertilized zygotes (supplemented with the construction of synthetic intelligences to oversee upbringing) the colony saw need of more sophisticated, comprehensive systems of government that benefited a civilian populace, rather than a purely military/naval one. Civic systems were gradually introduced into the system until a conventional representative-democratic government had emerged, laying grounds for further off-colony expansion and orbital infrastructure.

Disbandment

Despite the prosperity and expansion under the PFC's jurisdiction, growing ideological and political differences had led to not one, but two schisms in the later years of their rule, leading to the seperation and founding of the Vaduz Orbital Collective and The Helium Co-Operatives, led to a sudden drop in confidence towards the current government in the PFC. This game to a head in 4751u when the current administrator at the time, Overseer Kenneth Macleod, was discovered to have been involved in illegal trafficking of zygotes from the Kemys, leading to a vote of no confidence in the PFC by a majority of civil legislators and political-parties.   Before the end of the year, a political coalition led by Maxwell Adamza succesfully legislated for the dismantling of the PFC's government, claiming a need to 'wipe the slate clean and start anew'. In its place, the Democratic Commonwealth of Falias and Parime.
