Military action

In the year 881 after Khalimed, just 20 years after their appearance, the Changeling villages and communities north of the Anklife channel were attacked by the Khalimedi Kingdom.

Because of the peaceful nature of these communities and because of the disparity between their technology and the military might of Khalimed, this event is regarded more as a purge of religious nature rather than an actual war. Guided by the Plethora, that called the Changeling race an abomination in the face of the gods for their inhumane ability to change appearance at will, Khalimedi soldiers raided and destroyed the newly founded villages. This event led to Changeling having to hide and mix with other races, bound to never show their true nature and persecuted by the eastern church if found. Because of this, many changelings fled to the western continent, where they were shunned and often met with suspicious but never openly persecuted, at least until the start of the campaign. A very strong changeling community found refuge in the City of Elements, where they are an accepted minority. This is the only place in the known world where changeling communities still exist as groups of their own race rather than mixed and hiding within other races.
