Disappearance of the Elves

Extinction

851 btT

A document written in the Circle of Druids language and dated 851 btT is the last recorded occurrence of elves in the known world. From this year on, no new documents talk about the elven race or make any reference to Loraillyria.
Later scholars identify in this or the following year the disappearance of the elves from the world.

A few decades after 851 btT, expeditions from the Circle of Druids, sent on the edges of the Forest of Lorai to report on what was happening, come back empty handed, with no movement or activity to report. The elven outposts on the edge of the forest, built in the years following the end of the War o' Peaks, are empty, and the buildings are sinking back into the trees from which they were magically built.
Other expeditions sent to investigate deeper within the forest do not return, with the exception of groups that had an experienced druid with them. Their reports talk about treant and tree-like creatures never seen before in such numbers walking and defending what looked like the ruins of the elven cities. Whatever the version of the report, the common theme is clear: the elves have left the continent.
