emperor whale

Emperor whales are an absolutely immense species of whale that rules the vast seas of Panthea with an iron fist. They are perhaps the most powerful hunters in all of Panthea, they use their absolutely vast 850 foot (259 meter) long bodies and jaws full of teeth as large as men to devour the most massive prey in the oceans such as krakens, great whales, and dire whales, with the only creatures too mighty for them to challenge being the Thalasssuses, the largest known ocean animal.

Description

Emperor whales have a similar body shape to sperm whales, but with 2 dorsal fins which are both much larger, and possesing longer flippers, which are shaped more like those of humpback whales. Emperor whales are also typically grey/dark grey in colour. Another anatomical similarity they have to sperm whales are their large square-ish heads. but their heads are smaller in comparison and they have far larger and stronger jaws which are full of huge teeth that are possibly the largest ever found, at up to 12 feet (3.6 meters) in length, a single Emperor whale tooth weighs more than a man, and they possess the strongest estimated bite force of any animal. Another trait of emperor whales is that their heads are often covered in huge, ancient scars left by battles with giant deep-sea monsters, like the Krakens.

Geographical Range

Emperor whales are widespread throughout the seas of the The Midlands and The Outlands.

Relationship with Humans

Emperor whales are considered by most to be beyond hunting, being so massive and powerful that any ship attempting to slay one would be violently destroyed by ramming and tail slams. For the most part this has held true, and only a few successful emperor whale hunts have ever occured. The bones the few hunted emperor whales are now used as stunning decorations in the palaces of kings and emperors.
