Demon Grove
A place of ancient power both natural and corrupt, the original name of the Demon Grove is lost to time. South of the former location of the faerie Magic Valley, its silent henges surround a bloodstained bowl-shaped altar.
In its most recent history, it was dedicated to Yeenoghu by his champion Duurk. A sacrifice of any sentient being, even undead, on the altar would activate a portal to Death Dells, the 422nd layer of the Abyss, also called Yeenoghu's Realm. A war between the Demon Prince of Gnolls and Doresain, the Ghoul King, saw abyssal ghouls and fiendish gnolls pour into the Black Forest, leading adventurers to eventually seal the portal, seemingly forever.
