Duspun

The bloodied Duspun (a.k.a. Night stalker)

An eight tailed canine apex predator, primarily feeding on large mammals such as deer and horses. It is a territorial pack hunter, requiring large contiguous areas of habitat to support its prey and requirements for rearing of offspring with local wolves. The young stay with their mothers for 2 to 3 years before striking out on their own to establish their own home range. Can be found in the plains, grasslands, and some forested mountain areas of the Renscroprec Valley.
Its main prey consists mostly of larger mammals, such as deer, cows, oxen, and horses. When hunting bovids, it mainly kills calves and elderly when fleeing. Usually the hunting success rate is 10% in one hunt, and a pack usually kills one every 5 to 6 days to eat for 2 – 3 days. The Duspun usually kills a deer every 3 days during winter and eats for a day.

His size, strength, and durability are greater than the average wolf, with fangs that can crush through armor and helms. With fur like brass and a sleek muscular body, he is a very dangerous threat. With increased speed, agility, and stamina he is a persistent hunter. 
His howl has concussive force that can hurt the ears of any being in earshot. Those up close can have their eardrums rupture and bleed, causing deafness. Meanwhile he can hear the thoughts and feel emotions of those around him. Making it near impossible to sneak up on him.
He can smell the threads of vita and track them to areas full of life, hunting his prey with great proficiency. And can see the patterns of vita swirling around those skilled in its manipulation, allowing him to avoid potential threats.

Family Ties

Travels with a pack of wolves, averaging 7 to 9 wolves, but can vary over the years. The pack consists of his mate and their offspring. The Duspun may travel up to 300 miles to breed. The average litter size is 4–6 wolf pups.
