The Prismatic Schism
Religious event
As Eos was betrayed the heavens shattered and opened up the gates of Ethereum, as the then-unknown brother and sister of Hyperion took over the sky and its people.
Splitting into two new branches, the Brother of Twilight, Astraeus, and the Sister of the Night, Selene. The Prismatic Schism dawned a new look for the cosmos above, as realms bathed in different ideas, and colors took the hearts of Pangea into their embrace.

Seperating Myth and Legend...
This has always been a point of much contention, even in the third age. Of course, many scholars do not believe this is to be taken literally and instead symbolizes humanity - and sapients - in general, taking a step toward a separation from the Gods and reaching independence. New ideas, cultures, formations, and so on. Whether the heavens actually went into an endless twilight for nearly 60 years is highly doubtful. But what is most certain are the wars and teachings that followed regarding the arrival of the elves and their gifts of the arcane.
