Tinu Núr Empire

Elves primarily are the citizens of this country with some citizenship granted to a few other races and special figures in the world. Secretive and very knowledgeable, it can be very difficult to receive advice from a true elf of Tinu Núr as they will give one answer in one sentence and an opposing sentence in another. A sense of prestige and religious values guides the life of Tinu Núr citizens, believing the world may come into the light through understanding and knowledge. Some might see these people as snobby and above others, though a decent handle have earned high titles to match the judgment of others.

Structure

The empire was formed as the many differing elven kingdoms united under a religious doctrine and have remained this way for years uncounted. Numerous kingdoms large and small existed, though through some fighting, whether it be political or violence, the conflicts settled to result into six ruling houses. Of these kingdoms is The Attractive Alboran, The Enchanting Erees, The Elegant Eterea, The Homely Himmelwelt, The Noble Nevara, & The Sophisticated Selador. Of these houses the kings and queens report as a council to the King Priest or Queen Priestess who oversees their religious doctrine and overall federal goals. The religion of Tinu Núr is Peth -o Gilgalad and the current priestess is Glaen Calen. The Kingdoms deal with how they wish to rule their lands, however, they continue to answer to the clerics of Perth- o Gilgalad and spread their religious doctrine through their guidance. Within each Kingdom besides the ruling King is an Aer or holy person who advises the king directly. There Aer then convene and speak with Glaen Calen who is a direct avatar of the Goddess.

Public Agenda

As a general rule the native elves of these kingdoms strive to follow their Lady's doctrine, live piously, celebrate the light she brings to the world, and to save themselves from temptations that would pollute the soul. For this celebrating her words and gifts by spreading love and balance in a chaotic world best serves her needs. However, the

History

It is said history is shaped by the author of the history book rather than the true events, and according to elven history their people have existed for more than 6000 years. Due to this the calendar of the elves and for those keeping to tradition remain steadfast keeping time with the calendars of old, however, world historians agree elf settles started around the first few 100 years according to the Years Counted calendar. The events prior to Before Y.C. are knowledge guarded by the elves or the recorded events have been destroyed, it remains uncertain to the remainder of the world. What is evident is the interesting political history of Tinu Núr.   Ancient ruins, artwork, and so worth tells how the first elven settlements were built along coasts of the warmer climates and by the sea. Settlements a particular word to use as evidence says the elves were not originally from the area Tinu Núr occupies now, though this remains a disputed topic. Most elves believe their ancestors might have originally sailed from smaller islands around the world and founded Tinu Núr, desiring to live near water. Water was peaceful, reflect, and clean for the elves. For a time there appears no specific government overseeing the string of elven towns and cities, more likely small councils ran their respective lands without need for unification.   At some point elven clans or families broke away and continued to head east, south, and west away from their coastal homes. By the Y.C. 2203 ancient notes tell of rumors of beasts or other people living in the wild, lush woods to the east, yet nothing was confirmed. In retrospect the elves caught glimpses of other tiefling tribes in what is now today's the Republic. Despite the occasional sightings these two races would not make contact for some time, not until 2200 to 2299 Y.C. Continuing forward to the east elves would come in contact with halfings in 3000 to 3099 Y.C., first believing they were children that never aged.   Several years past before the halflings better trusted these strangers, and once communications were established the races acknowledged each other by the end of the 2000s. The two races exchanged the knowledge they shared: halflings with their improved farming techniques and elves explained boat handling and sailing. Years would pass as the two races began to build a commerce and happily many allies were created. Pushing to the east, the halflings described more barren land beyond their hills and the elves did not heed them. Some speculation follows though it is possible elves encountered the first Dragonborn in 2364 or 2394 Y.C., officially establishing trade relations between 3100 and 3199 Y.C.   Many parties and potential settlers traveled to the East, but no word would return. As business advanced and trading grew, the elves decided to organize and claimed their homeland as Tinu Núr, though it was undecided how they would govern. Several families were gaining wealth and leadership, mainly between the houses Isil, Silme, and the Ungo. A very religious peoples, the elven relied on their priestly maidens for difficult decisions, hoping their goddess would send sign or word. In a small village, destination unknown, a little girl named Cen Hendi collapsed in the middle of the day at the local market with her mother and frightened she was taken to the local priestess. Repeatedly she called out the names of Isil, Silme, & Ungo despite the small village’s unawareness of their influential power.   When word reached these families, they travelled together to see the child and on arrival the girl sat up and declared that one of these families would rise to power if an object of value was found. Believing it as a sign of intervention the families separated in 3302 Y.C. and searched the lands, seeking potential treasures. The Ungo travelled to the East, desiring to explore the desert lands no one returned from; Ungo dared to move into the dense jungles, and Isil marched west.   The Ungo peoples survived the desert and would obtain what they considered a mysterious book in Dragonborn city in 3410 Y.C. In their belief the elves claimed right to this item of interest, though the Dragonborn heavily protected it and conflict erupted in the same year. The siege for this object and various fighting between the elves and Dragonborn continued for 32 years, ending when the Dragonborn surrendered the book.   The Silme ventured into the jungle and note various buried ruins or abandoned towns dotting the countryside. Eventually this faction of elves would encounter the hidden tieflings, though they would never see their cities, towns, or even small villages as they were heavily kept secret. Relationships were fair between these two races though the tieflings kept at a distance, actively and openly not trusting the elves. With some allowance the tieflings allowed the Silme to explore their regions to discover what they might and told them no more. Eventually the Silme discovered a sunken city in the middle of the lake and managed to explore its depth to discover a crown in 3425 Y.C. Much to their excitement, the Silme questioned if this was the lost garden of their goddess and family rushed back with their finding.   Meanwhile the Isil took to the West and as they traveled they continued to claim land for their motherland, not knowing they were creeping onto dwarven land as they went. Without traveling into the mountains they claimed it for themselves and for future use without establishing a tight perimeter. The Isil would encounter the half- orcs in 3438 Y.C. and they saw them as disturbing creatures. Believed to be devils of their elven image immediate fighting broke out and continued on and off for some years without an official war. The Isil gathered the fallen half- orcs, siphoned their blood, and developed the iron into a new sword.   With word reaching Cen Hindi on the elven families success, she called them to her village to speak with her to see the gifts reuniting the groups in 3455 Y.C.  The Islin presented their sword, claiming their bravery defeated foul evils of their Goddess and they should claim leadership. The Silme presented their crown firmly believing their faith in the goddess was imbued in this artifact and was possibly hers. The Ungo presented their mysterious book believing thought and learning would lead their blossoming country. Whilst wearing the crown and holding the sword delicately, Cen Hindi placed the sword on her lap momentarily and examined this interesting book. Given ink and a quill she scribbled in the pages before slumping over dead a moment later. Horrified the Islin spread the pages, finding only her name written inside and in fury Islin grabbed for the half-orc blade and slew the Undo leader, cursing their family and their allies for finding such a terrible, cursed book.   Word spread quickly and the Undo families and allies were driven out of Tinu Núr, later to be known as the Drow, the cursed and hated elves of the Empire. During the country's history it has unified and divided numerous times, though their strength in religious fervor has remained throughout. In the last 1374 years the current empire is formed by the kingdoms Alboran, Erees, Eterea, Himmelwelt, Nevara, and Selador.

Demography and Population

Elves heavily populate this country and are the predominant race. Other races are likely to be found closer to their native lands; such as dwavres to the south west, halflings to the south east, or gnomes to the east. Humans are the second popularly found species, then again they more so occupy the southern coastal lands of the empire. Culturally unwelcome are the species dragonborn, tiefling, and half-orcs and if found are due to special circumstances such as a mission or employment. Drow or the dark elves are outright outlawed in this part of the world and if found on empire soul risk death.   The last census estimated the population to be at about 13.5 million.

Military

At this point the Miquelis Paur or the Empire's military has mastered the art of using a projectile. So if a weapon or ammo can be hurled, chucked, thrown, cast, or launched it is understood by the elves. Rather than fight close and in engage in needless bloodshed or effort, the military prefers to fight from a distance. Whether longbows on foot or composite bows on horseback, their accuracy is next to godliness. Rumor has it that soldiers attempting to join and pass military tests must be able to shoot down the smallest of creatures such as flies or mosquitoes in order to pass. Should close combat begin elves are light and fast, relying usually on dexterity to cut throw key areas instead of boorishly beating down their opponents like the Crags.

Technological Level

Wound up trinkets and toys are sometimes useful or amusing, but not a pursuit often found in these walls. Other races may have to relay on man power or machines, the elves are better tapped into nature and magic to manipulate the world around them. Relying on magic and natural essence has allowed them to not become confined by the worldly laws and other inconveniences.

Religion

The sole and only recognized religion is that of the teachings of Beleg Tinu Hiril and other religions that could be practiced is outlawed. Non- elves who have special citizen may worship their own deities, though only in the comfort of their home. Should citizens come into possession of false idols then serious consequences will follow for the individual and possibly the family, for all would have to be cleansed. The teachings of Beleg Tinu Hiril clearly demonstrate the proper life, love, and balanced required of a good elven citizen if they are to add beauty to the world as well as order. For this, while the Kings may rule, they still answer to Beleg Tinu Hiril herself, as she speaks through her Onwe, the avatar in mortal form. While the Great Lady resides in the Sant, she is powerful enough to send forth a piece of her essence, escorted by one of her Animals, into the body of a newborn baby girl. The new Onwe is sought when the former passes away, and once found she is raised as a nun. When of age she speaks to the Great Lady and passes along her guidance to the other Kings.

Foreign Relations

Cunomalc Community   Originally thought as children elves attempted to instill political rule in Cunomalc time and time again, but being ignored or forgotten was too much work. For now they believe instilling or persuading some military influence could help the gnomes be protected from the devilish tieflings and the chaotic dragonborn of the East.   Hrabstvi Homesteads   Another race at first thought as a budding society elves stepped in and easily forged an alliance early on. Good trade as built up this friendship and the Empire's strength has helped fortify the hobbit borders on all sides. Additionally their council is considered when dealing with other matters. Lastly, the cooking styles, recipes, and techniques of these two powers has created amazing, delicious creations.   Knurl Sartos Kingdom   In their exploration and claims of land, the elves moved through the land of the crude Crags and the lack of knowledge ignited a fierce war. Since this strife tensions have never been great and at times the culture clash of each race nears closer to war. Dwarves who have seen the light at least offer raw materials for the Empire to craft even finer trinkets and objects of worship.   Nauk-d Counavrausan Tribes   The Primitives of the West have always been viewed as a threat to the Empire and as such their history justifies their right for serious action. With the natural border of the ice mountains and a strong military presence the Empire has been able to keep the Tribes north, safe in preventing an attack to civilian innocents. If kept on a leash the Primitives are at least good for body guards after rigorous training.   Okkar Gæti Military   Due to the brutish threat of violence, the elves ceased fighting the Crags on the strong advice of the fledgling humans. While still inexperienced and loud, the elves do give their respects to the Military as their navigation of the seas rivals theirs as well as their strength in numbers. The humans are watched closely for their greed may be a close to the Crags' for if they desired, they could engage an attack on the Empire if desired. At least their numbers allow for substantial hands for labor and other menial tasks.   Olo' Atxkxe Republic   The Fintale were likely created to mock the nature of the Elf and remain tricksy and untrusted. The temptations of "entertainment" sway one's faith away from Beleg tinu hiril, The Great Star Lady and lead toward evil practices. Their presence in certain corners of the kingdom is merely tolerated due to certain circumstances.   Versvesh Gahri   The beastly nature of the lower Lizards is clearly why their inability to organize and rule will be their downfall. It is known to every citizen life in imprisonment, execution, and regular exile is better than being spirited away to be dropped off in the middle of the inhabitable deserts of the Rough skins.

Agriculture & Industry

The land of the Empire is fertile and diverse enough to sustain the population, though their trade with the Halflings has open up their roster of recipes to lengths of extreme. While farming and distribution is a trade from kingdom to kingdom it is the Empire's ability to take raw materials and craft them into finer objects of fancy. Known around the world for their refinement and magic, the Empire's specialty involves the industries of luxury goods and creation of the fine arts such as painting, sculpting, etc.

Trade & Transport

The owners of land ranging from earls, barons, and marquees are responsible for the maintenance of their highways. Further down the line they answer to the king who expects money or goods to guarantee the protections of the nobles' lands. Beasts of burden and carts are common, though the Empire is known to have constructed the most elegant of carriages and breeder of fine horses. For this their deliveries are swift in good weather and punctuality is greatly expected for deliveries and mail. Most international trade occurs in the Falma Ithil and on the numerous large islands that make up several of the kingdoms where port towns and large ships dock in their harbors.

Education

A federal standard of education does not exist across the kingdoms and education functions are usually overseen by the nobles. A typical elven citizen may enter public school around age 10 and remain with the institution for twenty years. Depending on the family some students may be home schooled, have a private tutor, or they may be sent out to a boarding school. Across the land numerous specialty schools exist whether it is for the arts, business, or religious pursuits. Children who hear the call of the Gracious Great Lady may be sent away to live in a solitary monastery and those that do so often do not emerge from the grounds for 50 to 100 years. Public school for non-elves is not offered and non-elves living within the Kingdom must rely on home school, tutors, studying abroad, or attending a public school that may be overseen by a non-elf. Typically these non-elven schools are monitored and their educational content screened for historical accuracy.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure throughout the Empire as a whole is overally very good to excellent. Regardless, infrastructure is overseen by the nobles who must insure their land is not only useful, but functional in paying dues to the King and for the King to forward some of his ties to Peth o- Gilgalad. While the Crags may carve out large holes in a mountain, elf architecture features a mix of trees, timber, other plant life, and some natural stone. The larger cities see a mix of dwarf, elf, and human ingenuity, though the decoration resides with the natives as always.

Major Exports
Each of the Kingdoms specializes or rivals against each other in the crafting of certain products, though the Empire is known to constantly create luxury goods. Perfumes, chocolates, paints, nail polish, and all manner of lovely items school children save their money for.
Major Imports
Extra hands in the military or in processing and manufacturing is always a decent bargain between the Empire and the Gæti Military. Importing food staples such as rice, barley, and wheat from the Halflings allows the Empire to grow their unique foods in gardens and fields. The more refined tiefling entertainment might be found in within the borders of the Empire in specialized areas and after being approved and monitored heavily by the government.
Legislative Body
Peth-o Gilgalad as a religious organization continues to oversee the law making and organization for the empire as a whole and has maintained this tradition for the last few thousands or so years.
Judicial Body
The kings of each ruling House are responsible for interpreting the laws set down by Peth- o Gilgalad and carry them out. In most kingdoms ranks include the king, dukes, marquess, earl, and barons. Through these people the Empire's laws and judgment are carried out. Often Dukes are titles found among the royal family while other non- blood tied nobles gain their ranks whether through social influence or due to military relations. Marquess are responsible for owning and overseeing the lands that govern the borders whereas earls and barons govern the remaining lands. Earls are apart from barons because often barons are prominent knights who served in the military for the crown whereas earls are not involved in the military.
