Inkwell Scritch

The Keeper of Scripts, Warden of the Written Word, Recorder of Revelations. Inkwell Scritch

A small imp follows Lucian, wearing an elegant suit fitted to him. He holds clipboard and quill as he writes down Lucian’s words, only speaking up when he requires clarification. When Lucian finishes his thoughts, the imp reads it back for the Orobas’ instructions.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Inkwell is in fairly good condition, owing to having to follow Lucian around during work hours to write down his thoughts, receiving a commission from all dealings Lucian partakes in. For being considered one of the lowest ranks of devil, Lucian grants him far more respect and power then most Devils would give their minions, leading to him being a physically strong imp capable of supporting Lucian in times of crisis.

Body Features

Inkwell is a small imp with obsidian black skin, with well defined muscles fitting of his rank and standing within the Lesser Evil Firm. Red cracks cross his body, a branding from his master Lucian, that allows him greater control fire. On his back are two batlike wings.

Facial Features

Like most imps, Inkwell has a pointed head, with sharp cheekbones and an angular jawline. Two small, spiraling horns protrude from his head, and pointed ears similar to a goblins. He possesses two sharp, golden eyes that convey a tiredness to him, with red shadowed bags underneath. Beneath his small pointed nose is his mouth, with two small tusks protruding on the edges, making ways for the sharp, needle-like teeth.

Apparel & Accessories

Inkwell enjoys wearing a custom fitted, purple suit without sleeves, complete with a green tie and pants. He had the suit tailored for him by a mortal after he completed his second contract as payment for his services rendered. He chose purple to make him appear more friendly to mortals.

Specialized Equipment

Inkwell is in the possession of an Infernal Brandstone, a small, dark gemstone with deep crimson veins running through it, pulsating with a faint glow. Inkwell keeps it in the form of a lapel pin he keeps inside of his suit.   It was granted to him by Lucian as a show of loyalty after Inkwell fulfilled a contract on Lucian’s behalf, without taking advantage of a disadvantageous position Lucian was in. Lucian was appreciative of the first imp that did attempt to stab him in the back, and as such granted him a boon in the form of the Brandstone.   The Brandstone allows Inkwell to channel Lucian’s power, making Inkwell almost as strong and powerful as the Orobas in exchange for being unable to commit any acts against Lucian, though the former is only a formality. These Brandstones are often only granted to the strongest of a Devil’s forces to strengthen them further, and an Imp being in possession of one is unheard of, as many would consider it squandering their advantage.   However, as Inkwell has proven, being the size he is has proven advantageous, with most enemies underestimating his power. Being as powerful as an Orobas and witty as an imp has gotten the pair out of many situations.

Personal history

Inkwell once went by the name of Mook, and was enslaved to a greater devil named Famtara. He served as her accountant, keeping track of souls she collected, while being punished each time one went missing. When Lucian first conceived the idea of forming the Lesser Evil Firm, he knew he needed someone to keep the books, and his attention turned to Mook.   Getting a hold of Mook’s contract, Lucian looked over it like he did with mortal contracts, finding a flaw that he could use to break Mook out of the contract. As serving Orobas Devils are coveted positions, Mook took advantage of Lucian’s offer to help him, and was able to free himself with the guidance he was offered.   However, Famtara resented losing her accountant to Lucian, and sought to take him out. At one opportunity, Famtara was able to get the upper hand of Lucian, trapping him in a Forcewall. Mook had the opportunity to deliver the killing blow on Lucian, but instead Mook took Famtara by surprise, trapping her in her own trap and removing her as a threat permanently.   Since then, Lucian and Mook (since named Inkwell) have been close allies. Lucian granted Inkwell his Infernal Brandstone, marking Inkwell as his second in command. Inkwell has been offered many promotions, with Inkwell refusing each time to better serve Lucian.

Employment

In official documentation, Inkwell is referred to as the Stenographer for Lucian, though it is more accurate to refer to him as a Partner for the Lesser Evil Firm. It is his job to record Lucian’s thoughts, and is one of the few who is trusted to handle some of the Firm’s more complicated or sensitive contracts.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Inkwell is the lowest ranked devil in the highest position of the firm. He has the honor of being considered the most trustworthy imp in the entire Multiverse, with legends of an Imp in a purple suit coming being even more common than the Horse in a Green Tunic.

Morality & Philosophy

Due to Inkwell’s goal to become an Orobas, he remains honest and loyal to those he deals with, but still keeps his cunningness and wit. He always tries his best, but unlike Lucian he is less willing to go out of his way to help others.
