Big fancy door and pillars. Slightly worn and listing sign that says “Dust Ballroom”. Sand Golem and Dust Mephit master ticket collector. Ballroom – clearly was once part of someone’s noble estate. Formerly Shajara. Yellow sandstone. Used to be gold leafing and golden chandeliers and stuff that have been removed and you can kind of tell. Big mirrors on the wall that once were gold framed but they now have plaster frames. Refurnished. Big performance stage at one end, balcony mezzanine, doors. Big main space has a central ballroom that is mostly left open, for dancing etc. there are wooden tables around the edges and some up on mezzanine. Little colonies of elementals forming flowing pathways of hovering sand and dust, making hazy but visible and solid through the air. Mostly staffed by elementals. Dust and sand mephits. Some primal less intelligent elemental spirits have been employed to blow things around. A few sand constructs. Candles but fairly dimly lit. One non-elemental member of staff is a hobgoblin. MC. Mr Sandman and the Sandettes for one of their performances of unparalleled sandiness. They serve dust cocktails but those are unsafe for nonelementals to drink They do have a cocktail that is a suspension of sand particles of just minerals that are safe for human consumption – Mineral Spritz, fizzy and the little sandy particles are agitated enough by the bubbles that it sparkles. Roxy – proprietor and benefactor. Watching from her private room. Cassie is ‘learning to dance’ from Lindie.
Hugo dances with Castor – who has confirmed he would like to resume his relationship with Hugo if at all possible.
Cassie has romantic feelings for Castor but would never act on them because Castor wouldn’t like it – as Connie sees it, she would like to “bring flowers” to Castor because she would like to be his sweetheart, but she won’t because Castor wouldn’t like it.
