Humans

Work in Progress - STUB

The Humans once ruled most of the known world, spreading far and breeding rapidly to overrun almost all territories. They had oppressed most of the races and were held back in their early years only by the High Elven Empire. Once the Elfwall was constructed, the Humans overran the rest of the world quickly, the Amarian Empire ruling over most with several other factions vying for their own control (The Kingdom of Keldred, The Imperium, The Senaris Partition, and The Kingdom of Ravencrest).   When the other races, lead by The Dragonborn and the Orcs, revolted against the Humans in The Great War over 1000 years ago, they were pushed back greatly. The humans now are but a fraction of the power they once were and is now considered a minority race among the major races. Now, only the Kingdom of Ravencrest still stands.

Subraces

There are six Human sub-races.   The Amarian Humans (Extinct): The Amarian Humans were part of the Amarian Empire, the most powerful civilization during the Age of Humanity. A large group of Amarians split off a few centuries before the Great War to form The Imperium. Most Amarians considered themselves the purist of human heritage, that all other races, and even all other human races were inferior. After the fall of the Amarian Empire, most Amarians fled to the Southern Reaches and broke into warring factions that became today's Savage Human Chiefdoms. A few Amarians still remained in the Old Realms trying to atone for the deeds of their people, being founding members of the Freefolk Confederacy.   The Freefolk Humans: The Freefolk are a collection of humans who have broken away from their ancient traditions and taken up the culture and mindset of the other races. They are kind and friendly much unlike many of their cousins. They have set up a small nation known as The Freefolk Confederacy, which is lead by two Freefolk Humans elected by their people, and one Orcish Representative from the Empire of the Reborn as a mediator and guide for the humans so they do not become like their race once was. These humans are short, and cleaver, using philosophy and strategy over power or intimidation. They are a mix of Amarian, Imperian, Keldredian, and Senarin. Most of these distinct subraces have blended together over the centuries making up a single people. (They are physically most reminiscent of Asian Earthlings).   The Highborn Humans: The Highborn Humans are those who remain of the last Human Nation: The Kingdom of Ravencrest. These humans are a bit stuck up and very territorial, but they are cautious with how they approach the other races ever since The Great War. They managed to escape annihilation by siding with the other races against their cousins, but they are still treated poorly by all races: either as evil racist humans, or as traitors to their kind. These humans are tall but slim, typically darker skin with a lot of facial hair. They've been known for trying to survive as best they can, occationally leaving their kingdom to try and right the wrongs of their ancestors. (They are physically most reminiscent of Middle-Eastern Earthlings).   The Kelredan Humans (Extinct): The Kelredan Humans, of the Kingdom of Kelred were the last to fall during the Great War. They quickly joined the Human Hegemony and were on the forefront of the war, upon the fall of the Amarian Empire, the surviving Kelredian's surrendered. Most of them eventually became what is now known as the Freefolk Confederacy, though a few had fled south to the Southern Reaches.   The Savage Humans: The Savage Humans, or Savages, are a barely cohesive group of humans who are the remnants of many of the former great Human Nations. They have since been pushed into the cold southern continent, and often raid and pillage the rest of the common races. They are not trustworthy and often seen as a plague upon the land. Most of these humans are a bit taller and more muscular than their cousins, and are often seen as less intelligent as well, reverting to a more primitive society since their defeat and exile. The largest barbaric group of these savages is called the Redbrand Continent, which is one of many smaller clans. (They are physically most reminiscent of European Earthlings).   The Senarian Humans (Extinct): The Senarian Humans were those who hailed from the Senarius Partition. They were a very freedom and rights-based society, but the laws only protected you if you were Human. The progressive-leaning senarian humans became one of the founding members of the Freefolk Confederacy, though many ended up fleeing to the Southern Reaches upon the end of the Great War.
