Mythology & Lore

Giving the Aurora

The Sect of the Aurora believe that when the Venkan-Ori's ancestors travelled to Venka, Odur created the aurora in order to warn them if they travelled too far north. Overtime the Venkan-Ori began watching the auroras, interpreting the waves and lights of the sky into omens and prophecies.

Priesthood

The whole sect is taught how to read the auroras, becoming the many Seer's of the Venkan-Ori communities. The Seers reading the aurora to interpret Odur's messages to the people.   Some Seer's are so entuned with their abilities that they are able to manifest the fates and futures of people into auroras. Beautiful lights swirling around a person, reading into the colours and shapes of the person.

A religion centered around light! What a creative answer to the prompt!

Check out Natural Magic : a coming of age fantasy novel, because life is hard enough when you're fourteen, even without saving the world. Or listen to it in podcast form .

Thank you! I remember sitting on a call with my friend trying to decide a more unique phenomena, instead of the ocean or trees and such!
