Girat, the Butcher of Assassins

History

Girat was forged for the emperor of the Dritha Empire in the year 3568 BDR, and was presented to the at the time emperor, Emperor Diax Bahvaur. After being presented to the emperor the blade was carried by him everywhere he went, and earned its title 'Butcher of Assassins' when Diax used the blade to fight of 4 assassins that ambushed his royal caravan on the road, only Diax survived.   Whilst dynasty came and went, Girat became a symbold for the Dirtha Empire, and each dynasty would take the sword up themselves, continuing its legacy through the years.   Because of Girat being seen as a royal weapon, the Longsword became a symbol for strength, power and ability, and became the weapon of choice for the Drithan armies. The Longsword being given this appearance of being a Emperor's weapon, like how the spear and sword are recognised as a Kings weapon by the Venkan-Ori and Dragontide humans, or how the axe and hammer became symbols for Dwarven might.

An extremely rare weapon, the weaponsmith only ever creating weapons for the imperial royal families, a weapon made by Ummek Jossadi is rare in and of itself. Girat is even rarer because of the techniques used in its forging, whislt Dragonsteel isn't that rare itself, Green Dragonsteel is very rare - most Dragonsteel being infused with Gold, Red, Brass, White or Silver (Though Silver became rarer and rarer, espically once Queen Mifeath became the last Silver Dragon on Oxdara). Further adding to its rarity is the red gemstone in Girat's pommel, the gem an enchanted stone to infuse the weilder with heightened senses.
