Grolantor (gro-LÆN-tor)

The gods and goddesses of Ovatria embody all the things of the soul that get invested in emotionally. They are symbols that rise to power through what mortals believe in and care about.
Grolantor is the patron deity of hill giants, and he is not like other gods. One of the third generation sons of Annam the All-Father, he is without a doubt the stupidest god in all the Planes. Some believe he can only be so stupid because he is the god of stupidity, and that his lack of intelligence or wisdom is what makes him so undeniably strong.
However, Grolantor was not always this way. He was once the god of bounty, a jolly god responsible known for his generosity and legendary feasts. He took up the role as god of agriculture after Hiatea remade herself. As the Lord of the Steading, he created the hill giants to be traveling farms, and halflings to farm atop their backs.
This all changed during the Thousand Year War, of all his siblings, Grolantor's lands were hit the hardest. Seeing the suffering the wyrms were subjecting his people to, he sought assistance from his older siblings. When they refused, he sought to make himself strong enough to fight anyone who would dare threaten his kind again. He made dark bargains with demons for strength, but still this wasn't enough. Grolantor then traveled to the Mirror Realm, and it was there that he sacrificed everything in favor of strength. He returned as a raw force of destruction and rage, unrecognizable to those who had known and served him before. While his strength allowed him to slay the wyrms he lost all ability to recognize friend from foe. It took the combined efforts of Surtr, Hiatea, and Iallanis to finally subdue him.
After his capture, his father locked him away in Carceri for his transgressions against the Ordning. But during the events of the Cataclysm, Grolantor was freed from his prison. He then wandered through the Abyss until an army of demons led by a Balor forced him out into the wastes of the Great Rift, where he stays because he is simply to powerful to be destroyed.
