Yellow Moss

Yellow Moss is a low-growing plant that forms dense, velvety mats on various surfaces. It is easily identified by its bright yellow to yellowish-green color, which can vary slightly depending on the specific environment. It lacks true roots, instead attaching itself to surfaces with delicate rhizoids. It grows in a branching pattern, creating a soft, cushion-like texture.   Yellow Moss thrives in damp, shaded environments. It is commonly found growing on rocks, tree bark, and damp earth in forests, caves, and near water sources. It prefers high humidity and consistent moisture. It is particularly prevalent in areas with limited sunlight, such as deep within forests or in sheltered crevices. It can also be found growing on decaying wood, often thriving in areas where other plants struggle to survive.   While not considered a particularly palatable food source, Yellow Moss is edible and can provide some sustenance in times of scarcity. It is not typically used in magical potions or for other purposes beyond survival. Its nutritional value is minimal, but it can provide some hydration and a small amount of fiber. It is generally consumed raw, as cooking does not significantly improve its flavor or texture.
