Starlight Fern

Starlight Fern is a small, unassuming plant during the day, distinguished by its delicate, yet resilient, fronds. These fronds are a deep green, often with a slightly bluish tinge. However, under the cover of night, the fern's true nature is revealed. Tiny, shimmering specks scattered across the fronds begin to emit a soft, ethereal glow, reminiscent of distant stars. The light is a cool, pale blue and pulsates gently.   Starlight Fern prefers damp, shaded environments. It is often found growing in secluded grottoes, deep within forests, or near underground streams. It thrives in areas with high humidity and consistently moist soil. It is particularly prevalent in areas where magical energies are present, such as near fey crossings or places where powerful magic has been used. While it can grow in complete darkness, it seems to benefit from even the faintest moonlight.   Starlight Fern is primarily cultivated for its ornamental value. It is considered a lucky plant, and its presence is believed to bring good fortune to a household or garden. The glowing fronds are often used to decorate homes or ceremonial spaces. Beyond its aesthetic uses, Starlight Fern is a key ingredient in certain magical potions. It is most commonly used in potions of luck, believed to enhance the drinker's fortune in games of chance or other endeavors. It is also sometimes used in potions of invisibility, as the faint glow of the fern is thought to help the drinker blend into shadows.
