Crystal Lotus

Crystal Lotuses are rare, unusual plants that resemble traditional lotuses, but with a significant difference: their petals appear to be formed of delicate crystal formations. These translucent petals glisten and shimmer in any light, giving the flower an otherworldly appearance. The "crystal" is not actual mineral, but rather a unique plant tissue that refracts light in a manner similar to crystal, giving it a crystalline look. The flowers themselves are relatively small, typically no larger than a human hand, and are usually a pale blue or clear color.   These plants are exceptionally rare and are found only in specific underground environments. They grow exclusively in subterranean pools of water, often in caverns or grottos that are difficult to access. The water in these pools is usually exceptionally pure and often has a slight magical charge, though whether this is necessary for the lotus to grow is unknown. Their presence often indicates a pristine and untouched environment.   Due to their rarity and striking beauty, Crystal Lotuses are highly prized. They are often collected by nobles and wizards for use as ornamental displays in private gardens or magical sanctums. Beyond their aesthetic value, Crystal Lotus petals are also used as a component in certain magical potions. They are believed to enhance the clarity of thought and focus of the drinker, and are sometimes used in potions intended to aid in divination or mental enhancement. Due to their scarcity, however, they are rarely used for this purpose.
