Rising Prayer

"As I rise, I thank you Lord Iya for watching over me and my family. Grant me peace on this day. Grant me health on this day. Grant me a safety on this day. Guide me along your path."
— Devout Waller

During the Age of Miracles many Iyans worshiped Sovereign Iya as a god. Every morning when they woke, they would face the direction of the Iyan Palace, bow at a 45 degree angle and recite a prayer asking Sovereign Iya for protection and guidance.

After The Planar Convergence this tradition is kept up mostly by the Wallers and devout Iyans and is seen as an oddity by the middle class and Magnates. The palace that they face is no longer visible in the distance, its state is unknown as it is in one of the lost sectors of Iya. This however does not deter those who pray, for they believe Sovereign Iya can still see them and hear their prayers.

Participants

This tradition is kept alive by Wallers, the Fervid, and other devout Iyans. As most of the wealthy got wealthier throughout the years after The Planar Convergence they began to believe that their achievements are wholly their own and moved away from this religious observance.

Observance

This tradition is a daily occurance and happens at the start of the day upon waking up. Before anything else is done, the prayer is recited. It is not necessary to be done in a group all at once but some wait for their families to awake then have a communal prayer session.
