Kassiden Pass

Kassiden Pass was the location of the last battle of the Midden Incursion. Here the terrible warlord, Gogoroth, was slain in one on one combat by Ser Alfric, leader of the golden company. The pass is noted by its deep cavernous expanse through a frozen valley, where remnants of Gogoroth's final stronghold was destroyed, most of the materials were reconstituted to the fort of Stormhold just to the south of the pass.   Cutting through to the middle of the past to the East is the Pale Pass, which was used in the battle by Alfric to flank the enemy and strike at the heart of the army that camped there. The Pale Pass contains ruins of an old forgotten Empire that ruled the land long before Alatrions did.

Geography

A cold frozen valley with a deep scar running through. In the summer rivers and lakes form in areas inside of the pass as some of the frost will melt, over the years it has caused deep fissures in the side of the pass giving it a jagged maw appearance warranting the pass a nickname from locals, "Dragon's Throat."   Large mountain's flank the location clawing high into the sky on the east and the west. The rapid change in elevations makes travel around the pass nearly impossible. Small groups may be able to navigate the jagged rocks and cliff faces, the the exposure to the elements makes this an insurmountable task.

Fauna & Flora

Trees grow in the summer where there is sun as the ground here is fertile and the summer is temperate, trees will loose leaves and grow dormant in the fall and winter months. Wargs, frost wolves and bears come down off the mountains in winter to nest and hibernate in the caves and outcroppings in the pass making it a dangerous place in the fall and spring as the forage for food.
