A secret past and a violent reunion. The fate of the kingdom rest of the message that is carried on the lips of the party. Can they escape the cold and the horde?

Plot points/Scenes

Scene One: Children of Bremen meet for the first time in four years after taking revenge on the man who killed their father. A lone banker from the Capital has waited for this day for over 6 years and eagerly awaits to divvy out Alfric Bremen's estate so he can finally retire after taking care of his last job. Within his estate is money and items as well as a relic to a long lost civilization thought to be a legend in children's stories. With it is a parchment with clues to locations around the world and instructions to the party to find all pieces of the relic and meet their true destiny. The first clue tells a tell of Alfric's fated duel with Gogoroth the Warlord who lead the Midden Incursion some 40 years prior and how a relic's lies with the truth.   Scene Two: City of Stormhold is under siege from a new incursion of Goblinoids and Orcs, word has not yet reached the capital and defense of the Kassiden Pass is essential to the survival of Midden. The Commander of Stormhold has issued conscription orders to the citizen that live around Stormhold and has began to arm them and send them to the front to delay the invasion long enough. The group is enlisted into service via contact with the military at Stormhold. After some discussion they are to scout out the pass for the lost patrols that they have been sending into the pass.   Scene Three: In the cold of the pass the party uncovers the fate of the patrols and finds them self snowed in and unable to return. A Captain that is leading the search party tells of an old pass through the eastern mountain valleys that was once used by Sir Alfric Breman to bring full siege against Gogoroth. The party finds the pass unfrozen and open to movement, time is of the essence as they need to make it to Stormhold to report their findings. But the pass is not what it seems and soon the group finds themselves trapped in with a legion of orcs and goblins and thier only shelter a lone tower in the middle of the pass.   Scene Four: The group finds themselves stuck in the tower surrounded on all sides with increasingly violent waves of Goblins and Orcs attacking their make shift battlements. However the tower is ancient and a dark secret lies withing, will the party be able make it out of the pass in time to warn Stormhold? Or will Midden fall as the party falls?

Themes

The theme of family will be apparent from the start, their father taught them that they are stronger together than they ever would be apart from one another. The mystery around their father will deepen as well as the mystery of the world around them. The theme of cold and the elements will be present as this is the first session the players need to monitor their resources and body heat to survive. Thinking about the environment as a living thing to build a deep connection with the world around them.
